I've had issues with the parking brake failing to release on both my 2005 and my 2016, related to the design of the system. The old (2004 and earlier) systems only spread the tops of the shoes...like most other drum brake systems. The 2005 and later Taco system spreads both the tops and the bottoms and there is a lot of friction in the lower actuator bar which jambs everything up. It's a gigantic pain in the ass when it happens. I have spoken to a few others who experienced the same thing...a few of which had to have the truck towed.

lol only thing i can remember is that in ND during the winters, you do NOT engage the parking brake. they usually freeze up in the winters up here.

i dont think i have touched a parking brake in 20-30 yrs

Just got back from the oc auto show they didn’t even bother to bring out the 6th gen (they had it a few months ago at the overland expo west) can’t be a good sign. Also the prado j250 just feels cheap and they want 70k the gx550 overtrail felt much nicer for 10k more

Maybe they are already all sold. Wonder if a military is buying them up?

I think it will make the 5th gen look like a second gen?

The 6th gen literally looks like a 2nd gen and a 4th gen had a bastard it looks really bad in person (I’ve seen it at overland expo)
