100% accurate. Did the same thing a few years back and scored a really good deal on my gunmetal.

From having the FN wheels I prefer the 8 inch wheel or 8.5 which I have now. Better stance and better handling. The nice thing you can run your stock size tire or 285’s.

LA260: it looks like you did the 285s on the OE (7") wheel. Any issues?[/QUOTE]
    No issues.

Damn, is that what they cost now-a-days.
We got my TRD Matte Gray's for $60 ea., when we bought our 4R back in '16.
Dealer was having a sale on them for $120 ea. back then. We just kept telling the sales woman no on that price until she agreed to $60 a piece.

Now I'm wondering if those would look good or bad with black lug nuts.

On your truck, I think either would work. My fancy Limited has a lot of fancy chrome accents, so the chrome lugs work. On my 100, I went with black lugs because there's less fancy chrome. But lugs are subtle enough that neither color would really pop.

The choice I would have made. Love the color too.

I like the ORP “sprocket” wheels, but I also think they get a bad rap b/c they’re mostly paired at the dealers with a set of H/T’s.

Might be an unpopular opinion (in 2024…), but I’ll just say that when you start seeing black wheels (flat & gloss) with faux A/T’s showing up on CRV’s, Rogues, and pretty much everything else including your kid’s Huffy, it might be time to consider a different off-road style.

I think TRD gunmetal will hold up 5 years from now, when a lot of folks will be punting on black.

Just don't be scared to sand a little, spray some brake cleaner and rattle can that bad boy, followed with a few coats of clear coat.Did this on my old Xterra. Turned out great!

Even painted around the logos on the center caps - nice work! I've rattle-canned wheels, bumpers, sliders... entire Jeeps. I'm a fan!

Alrighty, y'all, thank you for your input.

After a few weeks' worth of staring at them, plus the discussion here, I decided on the gloss gunmetal.
The order is placed; now I'm about to start studying tires.

Probably should have asked earlier: Should I get new TMPS sensors, or try to wrangle the ones from my current wheels? I've heard there's a big risk of damage when trying to remove them, and wonder if it's worth it.

Use your same ones. I have done it numerous times with my aftermarket wheels and never an issue. No need to buy new ones.

I like the idea of black lugs but I figure they'll just get worn every time I rotate tires and end up looking bad. Maybe they won't. Never had any myself.
