1990 3.0 manual in Costa Rica
Hello all, first time poster here.

OK, I have a 1990 3.0 manual that I purchased a few years ago. I'm Canadian but live in Costa Rica. My truck, Pepe, was working great up until I parked it for just 5 days while I traveled around. The climate here can be tough on vehicles, especially electrical and rubber parts.

The issue: like I said, everything was working perfectly (even the rear window!). Then it sat in my driveway for 5 days with heavy rain at times. I go to start it yesterday and when I turn the key nothing happened. After thinking it needed a boost, no change, I realized the battery is good. Headlights, rear window, interior lights, horn, 4 ways, all work. As does the light bar, which is controlled by the ignition.

Things that don't work when turning the ignition: radio, side windows, wipers, turn signals, fuel pump, starter.

Checked all fuses and tried grounding the engine to the negative terminal on the battery. I can assume the ignition is good since it allows the light bar to come on in Acc position.

Please let me know if you have any ideas while I wait for my mechanic to come on Tuesday, in 2 days.

    I wouldn't assume anything.

Check all of your major grounds. Meaning - disconnect, clean and sand lightly with very fine sandpaper both the terminal and the ground point.

Sometimes a ground will function with something that pulls minor amperage but won't function with a higher draw.
