No pics but added a switch to Morimoto XB Evo's to control the DRL's and the fancy start-up sequence. It was kind of annoying not being able to turn off the DRL's like the stock units.

These aren't really a great way to track a stolen vehicle. Airtags don't have GPS. They ping nearby iOS devices with Bluetooth, and the iOS device uses it's GPS to report the last known location of the Airtag. If your thief doesn't use an iPhone and hides the vehicle in the middle of nowhere (or out of Bluetooth range), you'll never see your vehicle again.

It probably works well for me because I live in a very populated area No matter where the vehicle is there is a smart phone to ping the tracker.

It's a very cheap (one time cost) and easy thing to do for piece of mind.

I've thought about an extra battery hidden somewhere and a charge controller off the main car's battery. The extra battery acting like an extended power supply for a ruggedized cell phone with a real time tracking app.

Any suggestions on GPS trackers? I was looking at them but nothing looked great.

I have the Accessorides remote start + GPS. As long as the vehicle has a cell signal, I can track it. It'll show the last known location if the cell signal is lost or the battery is disconnected.

New fog lights installed today. $20 and 20 minutes of labor. I might go with a yellow lens in the future but for now these look so much better than the original ones.

I noticed some time ago that my spoiler was rubbing on the hatch.

Finally got around to pulling it off and I saw some protective spacer rubber/fabric/tape bits were out of position or falling off.

Busted out the touch-up paint to cover where it rubbed through the paint and this super sticky, thick double-sided tape of unknown type to get the fabric and sponge bits (that I could salvage) back where they should be.

My handiwork is visible in the darkest photo.

All I needed was a cloth, goo gone, panel popping tool, 10 mm + ratchet, scissors and said tape.

After putting it back together, hatch doesn’t seem to move as much as it did before so fingers crossed it’s permanent.

Yeah but anything you put in the typical install spot is going to be disaabled off the bat.

I don't know how yo steal cars but if I did I would pop the hood and see if any smaller wires whare coming off the battery and would just cut those immediately. Then look under the dash for anything.

I got back to ehat I was saying before. For a good tracker I would pull power from a really weird spot deep in the dash that's ignition on to a well hidden charge controller and then epoxy something in one of the read fenders so you have to remove the rear seats to remove the rear plastics to check there meanwhile its got a power supply.

Or the air tags I've got a few in crazy weird places.

Tires and alignment done today. It was a fiasco talking with the alignment guy. I initially told him it it should be around 4. That didn't work and still rubbed the cab mount. So then I said get as much caster as he could get with everything else in spec. He said the passenger side was over 6. That was the ticket for the cab mount for the most part. We'll see, it may still rub once flexed. Now it's a must to trim the front some and push the liner in. Overall Im pretty happy with it. My front rake seemed to be lower than most 4runners I've seen. The front is 3 inches and the rear is 1.5.

Thacrow, I have the LoneStar tracking device for my trailer. Anytime the trailer moves, I receive an email and then I can go to the app on the phone and it shows exactly where the trailer is. The small tracking unit can be bolted in, or just set in the trailer and then moved between vehicles. I got this unit about 4 years ago after having a trailer stolen while we were in a hotel in Arkansas.

I finally installed the RedLine Goods leather boot for the transfer case shifter, which I picked up in the 4th of July sale. I'm glad I went for the baseball stitching.

The hardest part was attaching the boot to the rim, mainly because it's so hard to find the needle holes you have to make in the leather. I ended up using a silver Sharpie to mark them, and even then it was difficult. The next hardest part was popping the cover off the trans tunnel. I was worried about breaking tabs, so I went slow and easy.

Took the 4Runner up to the cabin this weekend. It was my first real chance to evaluate it with more aggressive AT tires over a longer road trip without some confounding variable such as towing. 220 miles one way with 7300 feet elevation gain.
Per the computer 20.0 mpg heading up.
Did not individually monitor the downhill return trip.
Overall trip mpg of 22.2 mpg, again per the computer.
Tires are Discount/America's Tire branded Rocky Mountain AT in stock 265/70/17. SL rating.
MPG is very similar to what I experienced with the Bridgestone HTs that were on it when I purchased.
Very solid feel and remarkably quiet overall. I'm about 5k miles into these.

I've been looking for a set of tires for my '03 Tacoma that are decent, and not too loud. Do you recommend these for that? The price for 265/70/16 is around $126 each, which is pretty reasonable. I just use my Tacoma for around town.

Yes. I had some of that same thinking when I got them. Sadly these will hit the grocery store more than the trail for the time being.
Also, I'm still new to the 5th gen so my wheeling will be light-ish for a while until I have a feel for it and I think these will be fine for moderate wheeling. And it's still over 110 degrees here so wheeling season doesn't really start til the end of October.

Noise wise they are really only slightly louder than the Bridgestone street tires Toyota sends these things out with. You can have a conversation or listen to light music and not even think about them. Ride might even be an improvement over the Bridgestones.
I run them at about 33-34.
I think they are good value. Made by Giti tire.

The computer ,or wish-o-meter , is usually pretty spot on when I manually check the gas mileage. Usually only when the wife complains about my truck getting less than half the mileage her Rav4 Hybrid gets.

That has been my experience too. It has been close enough to make it not worth the trouble to manually calculate. I'll have to revisit if I ever change tire sizes though.
