300 is fugly. The c pillar is hideous. The lx600 looks fine b pillar forward.

    upload_2024-9-20_18-58-20.jpg

4r is boring too. I cringe when I see a 4r rolling around full of high schoolers. Need a new non peasant rig that’s also good looking.

    what you drinking tonight?

The 4runner is boring af on road. At least in the LC200/300, you are pampered with plush ride quality, quite cabin and v8 drivability. Not to mention extra space, better build quality and everything else a step above the 4 runner. And the minute the road ends, it can't hold a candle to the real LC 200 or 300.
There is no comparison between a 4runner and a proper LC 200/300.

You are right! It would not fit where a 4Runner would. Probably it's only vice. It's size.

Spoken like someone who has never ventured anywhere in a LC200. Other than it's size being a limiting factor, it is 4 times better than the 4runner at everything at twice the cost.Just the 5.7 lt is glorious, forget anything else.

Spoken like someone who doesn't actually off-road.

The 200 is longer, wider, and heavier than the 4Runner. Aside from having more power, name one advantage.

4 times better at what, exactly??

You kids are arguing over Toyota trucks. If you don't like them , go buy a jeep. I hear you get a starter pack of ducks with the discounts. People are finally realizing jeeps have to be repaired frequently and have stopped buying them.

Poster whose entire identity(including his username) rests on his past ownership of a J200 thinks his 200 series is the end all be all of Land Cruisers. Imagine that.

I wish more J200 fans bought J200s when they were still on sale in the US. I finally arrived at a place in my life where the price of the 2021 is not a reach anymore, and they discontinued it. LOL.

    "Kids", lol.

I'd buy a Jeep for sure if I just wanted a trail toy. There's no denying their capability. Honestly, some of their drivetrains are pretty solid, from what I read. It's the daily driving aspect that makes them less appealing to me.

Longer, wider, and heavier are three things I really don't want off road - especially wider and longer.

If they weren’t so damn expensive then more people would have bought them. They didn’t make much sense when you could buy two 4Runners for the price of one LC.

It's a forum for 4runners and I have a 4runner. Not that hard to comprehend is it. I never said it's bad. I own one. And take really good care of it. It was said in context to the LC.

I am not emotionally invested in any of my vehicles. Now if it was my Hayabusa, I am touchy af.

You hardly know me to make a deduction like that. But to humor you, my past ownerships don't define me. When I had the LC, it was good, now I have the 4runner, this is good too. Between the two, I prefer the LC. Quite simple isn't it

We all make emotional connections to different things. Mine is a 1986 Mitsubishi Starion. It was the first car i torn down and built up. I still kick myself in the ass for selling that car. But we all have bigger things that hit us. I picked paying for school over it. I like my 4R more than a lot of the other vehicles I've had but not the same.

Other people put emotional connections into things given by parents or people that are no longer here. So I get it. We don't know everybody's situation.

Saw gx550 over tail in person.. not sure if it’s lifted or stock.. looks mighty high! Much more interesting than my pedestrian 4R.

then I remembered the lc250 is much better than the gx550… if only the FE is still available for msrp….

It was phenomenal. Sure it was a whale and behaved like one on road but for my intended purpose nothing came close. The engine was one of the best Toyota ever produced.
For my off-road adventures, I actually had a 1995 Mitsubishi Pajero Gen 2 with a 2.8lt turbo diesel. The US had the boring V6. Nothing could touch it once the road ended. However the best one I had was a 1984 Suzuki Jimny SJ410.

To clarify: Carista only enables you to OPEN windows with the key fob. To CLOSE the windows you can either insert a key in the door lock and twist, or you can install a $35 harness that will enable closing them with a key fob - but that is an entirely separate product from Carista. Link below.

    https://cartrimhome.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=windows+up

Carista is a great product. I turned off all the annoying dings at start up, and I frequently use the key fob window-opening function in the summer.
