Are these wheel wells normal?

    Not sure if you noticed, but in the linked thread, I wrote a dissertation detailing my observations and findings related to the slits cut into the rear wheel wells. :p:D I don’t blame you if you didn’t take an hour to read the post (I can be excessive sometimes lol).


    Nooooo! Your 4runner will immediately decompose into a fine rust powder if you plug up any holes in the wheel well!!! Don’t do it!

    I wish somebody with an older 4runner would post pics of their wheel wells to see how much rust there is around the slits cut into the coating.

    I would imagine that the front upper wheel well is not completely covered with that sprayed on lining like the rear due to there being several bolt heads that may need to be accessed if necessary. There's not those in the rear. As @Acesandeights noted, there is quite a bit of seam sealer and such in the front, and it looks perfectly adequate in my book. I don't think anything's changed from early on.

    there is some sealer on top but a lot of exposed metal with body paint color on the fronts. Not being anal, just want this thing to last decades.
