Break in oil changes aren't necessary

I would go for a trip in 4Runner, just make sure you follow manual for break-in period, i.e. no towing, no excessive speed, smooth acceleration/breaking, no driving long time at the same speed etc. Basically normal smooth driving with not using cruise control.

I've rarely used the cruise control in any of my cars with the exception of certain areas with known speed traps. My Maverick didn't have it, so I don't miss it and won't be using it on this trip. It can wait for some other trip.

Seems vague, what is excessive? Also I drove mine home from dealership 250 miles mostly highway . I tried to vary speeds but was a 4.5 hour trip.
