Hey 4runner forum! Long time lurker and finally need some specific help! I have a 2000 4Runner with the TRD supercharger and rear locker. I drove this thing from Chicago all the way to Argentina with the help of this forum but now i have an issue that i am not sure how to proceed with.

See the attached video (Sound on) - after a long 3 hour drive last week i was a few miles from home and i got a LOUD rhythmic CLUNK. I pulled over and noticed the front CV boot was torn so assumed it was that and limped home. Clunk is quieter but still there when in neutral (i have manual) and gets more frequent when speed increases.

When i got it home i checked front and no play or noise coming from there so i moved to the drivetrain. I lubed all zerks and checked for play in driveshaft u-joints. They all seem fine. So... trying to replicate the noise i jacked up the rear and put it in gear.... drivers side rear spins fine and passenger kind-of just judders forward and the noise appears to be coming from the diff or rear axels? I already checked fluid in Diff and it was topped up.

Noise is not a light sound it is a LOUD CLUNK and vibration - hopefully you can hear in the video.

Can anyone suggest the next steps to diagnose? I am quite car savvy but not done any work on differentials.

I appreciate your advise and wisdom in advance!
