I’m having a rattle in my 2022 4Runner Limited. It seems to be coming from a driver side door panel. I took it to the Toyota dealership where they took the panel off made sure all the screws were tightened and put insulating foam around contact points. The noise is still there as you can see from the video. anyone have any ideas because it’s driving me crazy.

So I’ve isolated the rattle to this exterior chrome piece just below the window. Can I just place this piece or reinforce it somehow?

You should be able to replace it. I replaced all of them years ago on my 4th gen when the seals failed

Yeah I was just reading more about them. Apparently it’s the chrome door belt molding. Looks pretty easy to change. Maybe this starts the chrome delete.

Are you sure it’s not your splash guards? I had a rattle coming from behind the vent on my 22 4Runner they took it apart and put foam then there was a rattle from the roof near the moonroof so I traded her in

Its been a long time since I did it but I want to say it was as easy as pulling off the old and pushing the new ones on. No actual tools needed.

So before I went out and bought the new part and tried it I decided to try one other idea that I had seen on Reddit. It actually worked. It’s been days now without the rattle sound. I just don’t know what the permanent fix is. I out electrical tape around the door latch/striker. IMG_1735.jpg

So is it the chrome window piece or the door striker?

Well, apparently neither. The door striker seemed work until it didn't. I bought the chrome piece and installed it, but the rattle is still there. No idea where to go after this.

Looks like one of the screws on the door striker is loose.

I'm sad you didn't figure it out because my 2019 has had this for years and it's the one rattle I've not tracked down and solved. My theory is that it's inside the door panel, not the outside.

I saw that on the new Tundras, there's a similar noise on the passenger side that turned out to be window seals that were not holding the window firmly when closed so there was some vibration. I was going to look at that too.

I had a rattle, driver front, inner fender liner was loose, had to get different plastic rivets from harbor freight to make tight

In the end 4Runners are rattle boxes. So i put 600 watt stereo system in to drown it out.
