    Hi all,

Oh the little things you discover when buying used.

This morning the temp outside was rather nice, so I just wanted to run my air without AC. However, it appears my AC is stuck on. The light will not go off when pressing the button in the middle of the knob, and the compressor is definitely running and cooling. If I spin the fan knob to off, yes the compressor shuts off. With winter coming, I really don't want to be putting hours on the AC unit, has anyone dealt with this kind of issue or know where to start to track it down?

If you have it set to defrost, this is normal but the light will go out. AC air dehumidifies the windshield.

If you have it set to max AC, it will not go off until you turn the fan off.

Curiosity got the best of me and I figured this out on my own. On the temp knob, there is a A/C Max full counter clockwise. If you are in that position, AC is locked and recycle cabin comes on. If you are one click back to the right (Blue Square), the AC will work just like most other imports (Honda, Nissan, etc).

    Interesting feature this A/C Max...

Figured it out. On another note, I see you are using the Fuelly app. What do you think of it?

It's alright for MPG tracking and it lets others know how bad the mileage is on these. I used it before when I had my Tacoma but lost interest.

I use it too to track maintenance on multiple vehicles and see what MPG I’m getting compared to the dash estimate.

Half of it is wanting to contribute to a site that I’ve used a lot to compare MPG as thanks and the other half is for the ease of data input.

Although the app itself can be annoying promoting that subscription they offer so if you don’t care for the crowdsourced data, you could do the same with pen/paper, another app that doesn’t connect to the net, an Excel sheet, etc.

My wife is prone to crank it all the way over in desperation when she is uncomfortable. I had mini freak-outs the first couple of times I encountered it on subsequent trips, but now I'm accustomed to her mischief.

Borla exhaust, Jet MAF sensor, K&N filter, Hayden rapid cool transmission cooler, Hella horns, electric fan, Pedal Commander, Derale power steering cooler,
Max closes the outside air door. Good to do while parking to keep critters out of your cabin air filter and beyond.
