Still having a ball with my new (to me) 4Runner. It's a 2023, got it with pretty low miles and it looks and acts like a new vehicle. Here's my question: this base SR5 has all the added features of an SR5 Premium except for the sunroof and the Softex seats (which I don't want). I asked the dealer for the build sheet, but it only showed what the SR5 build included, and not the additional features. It has things like the BSM and the indicators on each side mirror, but not the turn signal indicators on the outside housing of the mirrors. Does anyone know what additional packages could have been added to a 2023 SR5 base model? Your input would be appreciated.

I would think the dealer, using the VIN #, could tell you that‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

The Toyota App should show you all the option on your VIN. Go to Info>Glovebox>Specs

Bingo!! This worked perfectly. They dolled this one up like a Premium except for the sunroof. Thanks for the info, that worked like a charm!

I remember when a radio or an outside passenger side rearview mirror was optional. Now A/C and a trailer hitch are standard.

Hell, on my 1984 and a half 4Runner I paid extra for fuel injection!

I bought a 1998 Honda Civic CX brand new that was so stripped I had to have the entire AC system installed for an additional $1100! I absolutely loved that little car.

BSM is there. Pros dont have the mirror blinkers because of the side cameras.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
My ORP has both, the optional mirror cameras and standard mirror blinkers.

My zero option 1990 had no AC. I bought the OEM AC kit at time of purchase for $550 at negotiated dealer cost.

Same with my 86 and also crank handles for the windows. I had A/C added a couple years later.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I hate to admit it, but I'm old enough to remember when a/c was an OPTION. A dealer installed option at that. I kind of miss those days. Nothing was power operated, except the brakes. Even then, they were an option.

The vehicles now have too many screens, computers & motherboards. And we wonder why they're so freakin' expensive. I was at my local dealership yesterday (for my 10k mile service) and I spotted the new Land Cruiser. It was fully loaded and looked really nice, but was $72k and change. It had screens everywhere, fancy buttons to control everything, because everything was powered. Nothing was manual.

I don't think we'll ever go back to a "simple" or "basic" vehicle ever again. Well, in America.... I know other countries that make bare-bones style vehicles.

The defrost/temp heater controls and speedometer are cable actuated, mere mortals can troubleshoot and fix. The only thing wrong with mine is the fan speed is haunted, it occasionally switches from #3 to #2 all on its own…..and the manual rear door locks have a peculiar but entertaining issue.

Fuel injection was an OPTION on my 1984 1/2 4Runner. Had to get out and manually lock the front hubs if I wanted to engage 4WD. Today these things are bloated straight from the factory. And we pay for it.
