2024 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium
I just purchased my very first 4runner yesterday. I bought a 2024 TRD Off Road Premium. My car came with the standard Running Boards but I was wondering what feedback people had on these? I would like a more rugged look, but I also have a younger son and want it to be suitable for him to get in the car, plus we live in Chicago where snow/ice is a major factor.

Does anyone have the running boards that came with their car and like them? Or, is there another alternative that you found works and looks great?

Lastly, what other modifications have you made to make the car look even better?

    Thanks!

I have stock running boards, I bent one of them saving truck body in the past when ran it into a rock. I have no problem with looks but stock running boards doesn't provide adequate protection, so I was waiting for them to break so I have good reason to install proper steel rock sliders with some sort of steps on them maybe CBI ones or similar. If you want to replace running boards purely for looks, I guess it doesn't matter just put something you like.

I'd love to get running boards for my 2024 SR5 Premium. Any off brands recommended on Amazon that won't break the bank, but stick out far enough to prevent people from slamming their car doors into the sides of my Land Yacht? I can get in fine if I hike myself up in there just so, so call this more of a want than a need.

Those look like the same boards that I have on mine, I like them a lot.

I have Go Rhino's. The larger size covered with bed liner. Not the cheapest but I needed real estate for elderly passengers to use to get in and out. They do stick out far enough to stop a car door. My co-worker found that out the hard way. There is already a thread on here with pics.

I have those running boards on my 2022. I don't often drive "off road", though I spend a significant amount of time on gravel and some dirt roads in state forests. These drives are often snow covered, and not usually plowed. I find these boards serve well, mostly for a quick step out of the dirt, mud, or snow, often provide a place to bang my shoes clear (or at least clearer) of the muck before stepping into the cab. For my purposes, these are fine. I've never banged over a large rock though, and tend to drive around rather than over those in rare instances I encounter one.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.

    Congrats on the 4Runner.

I would recommend a Krown rust treatment as well.

I have the same, they were installed by the dealer as an accessory. I want to eventually get some sliders, throw these for sale lol
