I used the Best Buy in South Arlington. Off I-10 & Cooper. I can't remember the installers name, but he was a white dude with a scruffy looking beard, kind of chubby. A really nice guy who knew his stuff. He gave me tips on how to make it sound better and didn't try to upsell me at all.

Stay away from Car-Toys. They tried to charge me more than DOUBLE what Best Buy did for the amp install & setup. Car-Toys installed the speakers though. They did a good job and warrantied their work. But they raped me on the price. I should have had Best Buy do it. I could have saved...well, who knows. Maybe $500? It's still a sore subject. But I'll never be burned by them again. I learned my lesson.

Installed a Hayden 678 and wanted to monitor the trans temp. I made a cheap mount to install my old Ultraguage. Cheap, easy and tucked out the way.IMG_3368.jpg IMG_3369.jpg

I got tired of not having storage so I build a removable box over the 3rd row seats. It is friction fit so I can pull it out in seconds if I need the extra seats.IMG_3370.jpg

edit: still got to paint it

Added additional switches in the small useless cubby. Now the console is complete (for now).

I had 4 brand new TPMS sensors installed. (Long story why I replaced them - but I've never seen the tire pressure displayed since I bought the truck new almost one year ago). But now I have four that match and work. That was the main issue, they don't match. Toyota's and Lexus are finicky when it comes to that, according to the guys at Discount Tire.

Anyways, they installed 'em, and also aired up the tires to the correct PSI, rotated the tires and forced balanced them for me. It drives/rides better now. I saw them add additional weights to the wheels. I hope that stops the shimmy I have been experiencing lately. I only paid for the TPMS, not the extra stuff. That was free.

Finally got around to installing my rear lower link armor. They are from Outpost Offroad or OPOR. Got them at Metaltech which is the only place I find them when I search. So I don't know if it is a line of products that Metaltech produces or just a very small vendor/fabricator that only markets through Metaltech.
All that said, they came with zero instructions. You'll note in the first pic that each piece has a specific angle to the tongue. It was not clear to me just holding them up, which way the angle was supposed to go but once I had the stock bolt out and actually placed the part it was obvious the angle should face in towards the center of the truck.
Total Chaos has a product of this same design and a vid for install but it does not address the angle aspect either.

Was 106 degrees out by the time I got done and I lost 4 pounds while doing it. Wanted to get these posted before my kidneys stop working.

If only I had a truck to haul my tires... Got the new Goodyear Duratrac RT in 255/80R17 P/N 176315991 mounted on a set of used Tacoma TRD Sport wheels I bought on FB Marketplace a while back. These wheels are more inset (+32mm) than the stock 5th gen wheels (+15mm), which helps with clearance. This 33" narrow size is available in only load range E, weighing in at 57 lb. Combined tire and wheel weight is quite heavy at 83 lb.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Everything clears with stock suspension at ride height. Will flex it out later. Front fender liner clearance and mud flap / cab mount clearance:

    [IMG] [IMG]

While the front wheels were off, I greased the outer tie rod ends and lower ball joints with Castrol Pyroplex Blue NLGI #2.

Looking good! But with that added tire weight, it's going to hit your mpgs by a lot.
I recently changed my stock tires to Michelin M/S2 and it reduced my mileage by almost 10%.

This one is from one of the Toyota dealers in town, factory I guess, although not sure if they come installed on any of the 4Runners.

I am running it full time. You can swap any of the gauges to any available info you want. The amount of sensor data available is insane. You can also have multiple pages of gauges.

I have the new MS2's, as well. Went from 18.1 to 17.1 average mpg. I suspect after the tires wear in a bit that will change. They seem to be a really soft, sticky rubber. The lugs are super grippy.

I am though looking forward to have these last me close to their expected life of about 70,000 miles. What tire pressure are you running?

Rear has been on for about a year and I haven’t noticed it. Having the front off definitely sways more in the corners but not scary due to the heavier coils up front.

Added the TVD Vinyl Decals, only the TRD Red on my TRD Off Road Premium black side pillars. Had a little difficulty placing it exactly straight. Probably shouldn't have done it at night.

It fits right under the existing camera and plugs into the existing harness. Easy install for the front part. Haven't ran the wire for the back camera yet.

The dash cam looks like the best/easiest solution I have seen so far.
Did you take any photos of the dash cam install?
I guess you have to pop the plastic cover of the adaptive cruise control box to tap into the harness.
