What is it?

So I recently got my 2023 TRD ORP and the guy who owned it before me did some kind of questionable things that I’ve been reversing. There’s one item installed on the truck, with a little switch underneath the steering column at the bottom of the dash with what appears to be a light on the front of it (but no luck getting it to light) and a small button on the bottom side. There’s a flat cable that connects from the switch to a black box zip-tied under the dash. He put raptor lights on the truck and I thought maybe it either turned them off and on or possibly changed their color but it doesn’t appear to do either. Anyone recognize the items in the pictures? Note that the yellow cable is not related. I’ve done a bunch of internet searches, but no luck

 

Kill switch?
Air horn?
Remote start?
Ejector button to kick the wife out when she complains too much?


Press it and see what happens.

 

I pressed it and I’m still married so it’s def not option 4. But can you give me a link to that mod?

 

I would go with aftermarket alarm..

This is one of the threads "It’s a Pursuit brand Alarm system. Many other Toyota owners have reported this in their cars. Many are installed like yours, some are more hidden. I’m not 100% sure what the function is. It’s either a way for the dealer to track the vehicle for repo purposes, or something else. Either way they likely are the ones who installed it as it’s not a factory Toyota thing."

It appears to be a dealer installed aftermarket "Karr" alarm/security system.
