Yeah stock height. So had 2" (subtraction ) between the bucket & skid plate, which should've been removed. So use a lower profile drain pan.:frustrated: Your post seem to be a bit snarky towards members too. I won't be replying to any of yours in this thread not getting into it W/you. Good day:hattip:

I Only removed the small oil drain plug cover portion of the rear skid.

following the 4r’s happy path for oil change, there is very little clearance when at stock height

America’s best selling truck…because they’re constantly being replaced when they break down.

    I kid! I kid! :boink:

Although…where are all those millions of trucks?

Oil pan placement is dictated by where the bottom of the engine is. The plug is on the back of the pan because most people change oil on ramps. I’m not sure what other options there are for placement of an oil pan.

I suppose they could do a remote oil pan drain, but that seems like over-complication. Or maybe they can redesign where the cross members are so it’s slightly more convenient for people that don’t want to use ramps. Although, I’d hate for a car to be designed around a drain bolt…seems like that would be losing the plot.

Personally, I like getting underneath for oil changes. It allows me to get my eyes on other components and keep tabs on things. I built some simple ramps by stacking some 2x14 boards I had lying around.
