DCM disconnection maybe the regular enable/ disable is the key here

DCM Model arrives a few weeks from dealer We ordered a brand new one we will start tearing into it. We will install it in one of our new cars
and program DCM as a replacement This way DCM will have VIN of our car. Then put old unit back reprogram it to be the main unit again.

Firstly power with battery and 12v and find out as much on vcc powers then only battery then logic gab all data signals on power up one by one.

Also when battery is charged see how long the internal battery lasts for.

Then remove cell module meter all pins for commonly connected pins then find out if regular only powers cell module.

then lift control pin and force regular to disable see what power disapears.

Then extend all cell model pins from unit too pcb wire wrap then look at each for ttl serial data then feed to a logic capture try every baud rate once
see data hope to see AT Commands !. And at one point the vin will be in the data stream.

All to be done is a farady room so nothing gets out and monitor cell carrier signal transmitting because if we find a easy way to disable we need way
to prove it dead dead dead.

This will be very time comsuming but then we really know how this unit functions. The model will be same as all cars of this brand and year.

All so we can learn things for example if you do file a no data sharing does it really not send a thing ?

Here is our concern this is just the start the more the car manufatures get away with the more they will do this. And will lobby government for
this type of system to be manitory.

I guess I'm done buying new cars. Sure hope mine outlast me, they probably will.
