Any recommendations on type of Tnuts and bolts for your Prinsu roof racks?

I think the inferred preferred fastener for the Prinsu extrusions is a common carriage bolt.

I love the high-speed-low-drag stuff from McMaster. I recommended carriage bolts because the Prinsu rack has round holes at the ends of the crossbars.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.

Sorry I don’t have a Prinsu rack. But it’s a simple matter to determine the size. First measure the width of the slots and the hole at the end and then go to your local hardware store and measure some carriage bolts. Pick the largest size that will fit, while allowing the square lug on the shank of the bolt to slide easily in the slot but not spin. The length of the bolt will be determined by what it is that you are bolting to the rack.

I measured and concluded an M5 or (1/4in) carriage bolt would fit. I just want to make sure that's what everyone else is using. I also considered the roll in Tnut with ball spring. The reason I ask is because I'm mounting a water port and I have never mounted something that heavy to the roof with a small footprint. I'm using the Rago Fabrications mount. I just want to ensure that this thing doesn't fly off and hit someone and cause an accident. This will be the first thing I have ever mounted to my new Prinsu Pro roofrack.

You might want to go the extra mile and find rated fasteners. Grade 5 is fine. (Or 8.8 if you’re using metric.) I suspect rated carriage bolts are a bit of a specialty item not available at the neighborhood Ace. McMaster has them. They have minimums though.
