Looking at replacing the rear brakes and calipers. As they seem to be sticking(noticing a clunk at full stop and while releasing the pedal to start going again) drivetrain is greased to the moon and back so i can rule that out as the culprit.

Can anyone tell me the actual difference between the Z23 Evolution(calipers, slotted roters and pads) vs the Z36 kit?

Crockauto sells them both at nearly the same price, the z36 kit is listed as heavy duty whatever that actually means..

Z36 is beefier for towing and other situations where more is better in the braking department. FWIW, I had the Z36 kit for a few years. Solid product with good support (they promptly answered some questions I had). I only switched to OEM b/c I discovered Toyota's online parts site which discounted the OEM kit to a comparable price. IMO, unless there's a significant cost advantage to aftermarket, OEM is the way to go.

You may be aware but be sure you get the correct front rotor. The Sport Edition (and maybe some Limiteds?) have larger 338mm diameter rotors vs. the standard 319mm on SR5s.

I try to buy mine when Toyota dealers and toyotapartsdeal.com have free shipping or seasonal sales.
Aftermarket wise, I've never tried power stop calipers, but I like their pads and rotors. Tried Centric calipers years ago, not impressed. One piston seized the others not far behind, and only after 2 years of hwy and some Florida trails.

I put the Power Stop Evolution series pads and rotors on one of our other vehicles a few months ago. They work great. When I shopped around, I got the best price at carparts.com
