In the bushes near every burning Tesla this dude is basking in the warmth with a smile and a chubby.

Edit: (the joke here is he started the fire)

If anyone’s interested, the F-150 Lightning’s battery is ~1,800 lb so you get that much extra weight on the truck minus the weight of the gas vehicle powertrain that’s no longer there.

And it doesn’t have any of the leaks, body corrosion, wiper, steering (front and rear), wiring, tailgate bending, trim falling off, locking diff not implemented, control arm, fit/finish, swiping-to-shift, “The accelerator may or may not disengage when the brake is depressed”, etc. concerns that the CT has fundamentally baked into it. Even though it’s a Ford.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

If you Google "Ford F150 Lightening Issues" and select videos, you'll get 300 hits that explain how the battery fails. A lot. Sure, it doesn't have the other issues you mentioned above it can't run because the battery(ies) keep failing. Owners never get to drive/haul/tow long enough to see if other issues pop up.

Actually, speaking of towing... Tyler Hoover, from Hoovie's Garage actually did a few videos about the towing. When he tried towing it cut the range by 2/3rd's.

    What logic?

If you're going to compare two products, they should be compared as they are sold.

It’s not that the Lightning or any other given vehicle doesn’t have any problems (it’s certainly been around longer, sold more, etc and isn’t failing the way the CT is), it’s that the Cybertruck’s multitude of problems are fundamental to its design and execution both, independent of its powertrain.

And that’s as I say I’d avoid a Lightning or Mach-E not because they’re electric but because of the possibility of an OTA update soft-bricking the vehicle - which has happened. (Automakers and bad software, name a better duo… Don’t get me started on the Blazer EV…)

Update: TL;DR - Don't just stop at seeing problems exist, look at the HOW and WHY those problems exist.

    Well then.

I've driven the cyber truck. If you want a giant car with sort of a truck bed thing, then it's perfect.

It's insanely fast, handles well and corners tightly. The air ride makes the ride feel very comfortable over unkempt, bumpy city streets messed up from tree roots.

It really is quite nice. If you look at it as a large car. It's got the comfort of an old cadillac, straight line performance better than most sport vehicles. Turning radius of a rickshaw. Off Road prowess of a Toyota Corolla.

EV's in general are very different. Tesla's have a lot of torque and because they are so heavy, heavy duty suspension. That said my brother has had a Harley Pan America on a motorcycle carrier on the back of his Y. That Y has also towed a box trailer with 2 cars around town fairly easily.

    EV's are EV's. Theyre different.

Correction, the Cyber Truck is traumatizing. Just looking at that truck (someone in my neighborhood has one) causes me to have PTS episodes.

I rode in it as well. Super smooth ride. If I didn't like my Model Y so much I'd get the CT after the foundation series is done and the price goes down by $15-20k

Yeah for me driving the Y is like driving a small delivery truck. Super rigid. Very bumpy uncomfortable ride.

I particularly hate the seats in teslas. Pushed the head forward. Isn't comfortable for me.

Edit: sorry wasn't trying to smash on the Y that much. I read your post incorrectly. My brother loves his Y.

I tend to agree that this site isn’t as active as I’d have expected, at least in regard to off-road/adventuring enthusiast content. Don’t see a lot of folks getting out and wheeling regularly on this site, though I know that is a niche category and most folks here don’t intend to use their vehicle as such.

I believe other social media platforms have swallowed up a lot of the traffic that would have otherwise made it to the forums back in the day. Heck a lot of my off-roading buddies aren’t on any forums at all. I have stopped updating my build thread for that reason, it felt like I was posting into the void.

I still think this is a valid place for asking technical questions or for discussions in general, I’m sure I’ll be thanking this forum when the day comes that something goes wrong and there’s someone with a readily available answer.

Where else would you go to keep tabs on random people's car washes, drive through trips, and dental exams? Ugh I hate Facebook as much as boomers hate the Cybertruck.

As a boomer I am hard pressed to decide if I hate FB or CT more. Now let me go check the paper calendar on my fridge to remind myself when my next dental appointment is.

Actually, I like the CT in theory. I think they can tweak the execution some though. My real hesitation is waiting for more robust infrastructure in general for EVs.

    Yes. It keeps getting better.
We have a cabin in the mountains and couple years ago the only charger between the house and cabin was Tesla and all the sharing agreements were not yet in place.
I liked the F-150 but the cabin was right about at the limit of it's range. So we would have to not encounter any limitation on range. (Unlikely)
I see there are now at least 6 stations along the route though one is at a hotel and might not be public. Regardless, the landscape has changed a lot in just a couple of years.

I don't think I will ever do Face Book. As far as CT goes, I have a reservation $ on a CT but Musk is getting a little to "out there" for me politically even though I already have a 2018 Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Solar Panels on my
    home.

Yeah. Happy to go to the grave without ever experiencing Facebook.
Doubtful on the Cybertruck because I just don't want to spend that kind of dough on a vehicle, but we'll see.
At this point in life, I'd rather spend on experiences.
