I bought a Cascadia 4X4 hood solar system for around $700, and the solar panel stopped working just after 14 months, they sent me a replacement under warranty, but the replacement stopped working too and because I bought it more than 2 years ago they wouldn’t replace it anymore. Solar panels are supposed to last at least 20 years not 14 months. Anyone else has this problem?

Too poor to buy anything now
Not to go off topic but how do solar panels stand up to hail storms?

Flexible solar panels do not last very long when compared to the rigid panels. Give Will Prowse a watch on YouTube

I don’t know how much they do “in house” to make them be vehicle specific, but I’d be wondering about poor soldering on the wiring or other aspects of assembly related to sizing of the panel.

Can you inspect them for bad solder joints? I’d normally say to just re-solder any joints that look bad, but I don’t know about safety when working with solar panels. For all I know you’d have to re-solder them in a dark room to avoid getting zapped lol.

Can you ask them if they are serviceable in some way?

Probably built to a lower standard than the big permanent installation panels to start with a healthy dose of MBA cost-cutting.

It sucks trying to figure out what products are quality now.

I hear that dehumidifiers are all a crapshoot too.
