Same! I may want to do that to the fog lights yellow. Just released the 2024’s have the whole suit of lights LED (beside DRL)

Sorry for late response, as went on a road trip to Tuktoyaktuk to the “End of the Road”. In perfect conditions without obstructions, on my trip I was getting about 25+% charged (- fridge running so a net 20+%). On more over cast days I was getting just under half that. Since I also used my mini Nespresso machine, a small kettle, charged camera batteries and my Apple Watch, I did manage to get my power station down to 40%, at which point I decided to enable the alternated charging.

Be the same for any panels on a house. If unlucky the glass on the front can crack / shatter. Flexible panels are more durable (similar to the Tesla solar roof shingles), weight less but are more expensive. Mid grade versions of flexible panels also produce much less than their rating compared to rigid panels.

Got some precut vinyl made for this on Etsy, and it sucked (thin, fragile, hard to install). Just used this stuff cut freehand with an xacto instead.

I did try doing the whole thing with their tinted wrap, but gave up. Suspect the bulbous shape is impossible to smoothly cover without a lot more skill and/or relief cuts.

Finally got around to swapping out the drivers side seat foam in my 2011 Limited. It'd lived a good life but the bolster is shot and I was sitting on the metal frame. This is a job for the patient. It's not overly difficult if you break it up into stages. I considered replacing the cover but with heated seats those are near $600.

That's a pretty clean floor on a 13 year old truck.

4runner build is coming along nicely. Wife and I will start installing parts this weekend! I told her it’s her build so she has to wrench on it.

Ha! It's had floor mats it's entire life. I have only had it 2 years. Shockingly I only found 1 French fry and 1 crayon under the seat from the original owner. Barefoot is the best.

Changed the oil and filter today. Oil change number 27 give or take one or two. Also saw my brake reservoir cap was missing. Looked in all the obvious places but then found it on the frame rail by the battery. Really not sure how it got there and how long it had been off.

Vaseline (thinly applied) on the threads before putting on the caps will prevent binding.

Edit: "Bag Balm" is available in rural areas and is used on milk cows. Basically Vaseline with a bit of eucalyptus and other good stuff. Also great for rough hands...and Shania Twain used to use it on her face when she was younger (look it up).
Probably adds another 0.5 horsepower too.

Just got screwed by the Stealer, $630 for transmission and transfer case fluid change
It is a pretty abused truck. Curious how the fluids look after almost 40,000 hard miles.

Damn! I just did my own: transmission, transfer case, and both diffs for around $150. Learn to do it yourself and save.

She asked to build her 4runner into our trail rig so I told her she has to work on it as well so she could get familiar with the truck if anything breaks on the trail. Shoot, even changing the spare would be amazing.

This weekend we're going to tackle the skid plates, panhard relocation kit, perry parts bump stops, and an oil change.

Is there a YouTube or other step-by-step w/photo resource?
Replacement bolsters from dealer or elsewhere?

I have done several before including the entire interior on my 2014 Tundra. I watched the above video to see where the 4runner clips are, etc.
I used OEM seat foam purchased from Toyotapartsdeal.com. Was about $205 for the seat bottom. I had hog ring pliers and hog rings from before. Total time with breaks and going slow is about 2-3 hours. If I was rushing one could do it in 90 minutes, but no need to rush. I broke it in stages. 1-disconnect battery and plugs from seat bottom, remove seat. 2) Gently remove plastic seat trim and wires. Separate seat bottom from back 3) Remove cover from old foam. 4) Re-attach old cover on new foam. 5) put bottom on frame and re-attach wires, reassemble seat back to bottom. 6) Put seat back, re-attach wire harness, battery, test.

It's tedious work and not for the easily frustrated, but one doesn't need any experience, just watch the video and go slow.

Pointers, have a big table you can put the seat on so you are not bent over or on the ground like I was-that's miserable. You will need to be spinning the seat frame around so a durable, big plastic picnic table with cardboard is a good idea. Get good pliers and snips that can handle cutting hog rings. When you buy hog rings, don't get the cheap ones with a sharp end-you want dull end-so they don't poke through the foam/seat cover.

I had my suspension mechanic install a 10mm spacer in the drivers rear coil, and a Dobinsons adjustable pan hard bar to get the rear axle centered in the chassis. Pretty close to dialed with only a couple of projects left.
