    I just purchased a 2016 4runner and am wondering how to load or run apps

    Welcome to the forum.

    You can't.

    2016 Entune never supported non factory-installed, third party apps and the apps that came with the head unit no longer work because Toyota killed Entune 4 years ago.

    I think you can still get some of the paid connected services (traffic, emergency services...) given you have a nav unit through the Toyota phone App.
