I saw a mention of disabling the beep entirely with the Carista app, but is there any way to change the tone to something else? My wife has a Lexus that make a similar beep. I suspect every newer Toyota on the road has he same beep as I heard a RAV4 in a parking lot make the same beep. If the only option is disabling it through the Carista app, then I will prefer to do that.

IDK, just my opinion, the "beep" isn't very 4Runnerish... just like the OEM Key Fob (I upgraded to the AJT one).

I'm pretty sure no. But you can chance your turn signal tone with Carista!

Toyota and Lexus use the same tone because it's the same piezo tweeter across the board. You can possibly substitute something else but you cannot change the tone of the factory one.

You don’t need Carista to disable or change the sound volume. It can be done straight from the settings in the HU. However, there’s a weird glitch that will sometime cause the key fob to completely be disabled to lock/unlock the vehicle.

Yeah, don't try that one, OP! The forum is full of threads from owners who rolled the dice and got snake eyes.

By chance, anyone have the settings to do this? I recall trying to do this several weeks back and finding my options weren’t the same as what was mentioned online through the head unit. I suspected it was because my car wasn’t completely started, but retried with the same result

2024 ORP (no JBL) thanks !
