They don't salt the roads where I live but I'm pretty close to the ocean. Should I put fluid film or woolwax on the frame or is it not necessary down here?

Will you ever drive anywhere that may salt the roads? And I’ll add, that the worst my runner or any vehicle I have driven in the winter was when I drove to New Orleans a couple winters ago in a storm, as everything freezes and and what ever is used on the roads coated my runner, I couldn’t wait to wash it, and I’ve never been that concerned living all my life in Maine.

Any car can be susceptible to rust, especially a 4runner.
A fluid film is a cheap, easy insurance and 1 big headache less to worry about going forward.

Probably. I just didn't know if woolwax/FF was for living in a salted road environment vs 1-2 winter trips a year to salted road environments.

    I would, it’s worth it.
