If you are in the market, I have the AVS window visors but not low pro (I went low pro on hood only).

The ones I have can be quite noisy at interstate speeds

6’6” and you raised the seat? I had to lower the seat which was cut the feet and weld new feet. Lowered by 1.5”. The sunroof made the ceiling too low on the pass side. since there is not a lowering mechanism for the passenger seat.

I want to thank everyone in this forum for the wealth of info this website provides. Somewhere in my reading I found something about needing an extension for the 4 point wiring harness. We hooked up The Land Yacht to the Pikey Palace last night and...lo and behold...the wiring harness was too short. Husband insisted it was fine; I insisted otherwise and busted a move to the local Auto Zone and bought the extension. $15 and it solved any future towing issues.

We're off for our first adventure in the 4Runner!

Any trouble with opening and closing? I had them on the tundra and my driver side one would pop off at the front bottom corner any time I rolled the window back up.

None so far, these stick to the exterior instead of being in channel. I used the alcohol wipes that came with them to clean the areas where they stick and they seem to be solid. I'll update if anything changes.

I don't like my floating kenwood so I got this Dasaita G13 to install (hopefully) this weekend.

The tundra ones stuck on the outside with tape too, but at the very bottom by the mirror there was a tab that tucked in the channel. That was the whole issue for me

What did you not like about the Kenwood? From my experience ,it does have great audio quality but a little to big to fit there.

It squeaked a lot which i was going to fix my lining the dash plastic with felt tape. so...so what?

It sticks out pretty far. Positive and negative. Positive in that it's more convenient to use the screen. You don't need to reach as far. Negative in that it *feels* like you have less room in the vehicle.

AC / Heat vents. While you still get hit with the AC, you can only get air hitting you pretty high up on your person and the amount of air is diminished. <-- this is really it for me. I need more air.

I like more of a stock look all around so to me the Kenwood looks a bit silly. Over the top. And while it's not and the Dasaita is much less expensive, the Kenwood to me feels very cheap and trashy. I would pay a lot of money to have something like the kenwood with more of a dasaita fitment.

lastly.........maybe the antenna on the kenwood is in a poor location. It's been disconnecting from my phone a lot.

    Got it!
Floating head units are a hit or miss according to me. I prefer the OEM look as well and went with retro fitting a 2022 head unit in my 2011. It was a massive visual upgrade compared to the orange dot matrix display I had earlier. Plus makes my 14 year old truck feel like a 2022 from inside.
Although the Toyota head unit is severely limited when it comes to putting out a quality signal but my amp/DSP days are behind me. I swapped the speakers and its still average at best but leaps and bound better than what it came with.

The new Dasaita does have decent reviews and the fact that it now has a snapdragon should at least ensure some level of steady processing power. Maybe one from Cartrimhome with their Facebook support page is another option that you can look at.i steer clear of these Chinese tablets masquerading as head units.

I was initially looking at the cartrim home ones to try out but there's a lot of people running dasaita at Tacomaworld, so they've got a good bit of R&D into it and hopefully have worked out bugs. And just what you said, the new chips int he G13's hopefully make it fast. The startup times on youtube looked better than my kenwood. And I just really like the stock looks. So....worth trying out. we'll see how it goes.

I only want an aftermarket HU for 2 reasons. Mostly a better signal for the DSP's. And as an added tertiary benefit, better resolution allowing upgraded rear and front cameras. I would have left it stock otherwise.

I guess the other thing is less power consumption maybe? since the hot leads from the factory head unit would be taking a bit of wattage, and then so would your amps. Or when you use a line output converter does the factory HU still use full wattage? I dont know never looked into it

From what I ve read and observed, the LOC is designed to reduce the voltage to RCA level. I guess it will do what you want it to do.

What I mean is total power sunsumption of the vehicle. Yes. LOC reduces voltage from the stock head unit but let's say you crank the volume all the way up and you're using say 30 watts per channel on the stock HU Plus max watts on your aftermarket system.

Your vehicle is now powering two sound systems. Or is it? Does it work like this.

That's probably fine under llmost circumstances until you also turn on your aftermarket inverter and now you're draining your battery while driving and need a new alternator.

I just got my 4runner back and dropped off the jeep. Imo, the jeep is crap. The 4runner rides like a Cadillac compared to the jeep. I didn't enjoy the jeep.
