Rear Door Open Light Stays on and rear window will not go down

The rear door open light on my 91 4runner stays on all the time. I also can't get the rear window to roll down. I'm thinking the rear door open light is telling the rear window to not work. Any ideas?

 

pull off the rear panel and test the motor to see if that still works? Also check and see if the wiper is in it's proper place.

 

You can do the rear wiper bypass trick, a quick google will pull up a reference as to which wire to jump. It’s very easy and you will pull the plastic where the rear light is so you can inspect it.

 

Also, door has to be locked for window to go down

 

Have you confirmed the rear door isn't open?

 

Could be the rear window relay that is in the back drivers quarter panel. This troubleshooting guide is very helpful.
