Hello all. I've been wanting to get a 2024 TRD Pro but they might prove to be out of my price range. I know most dealers are getting MSRP for the Pro but are the Off Road Premiums selling for less than MSRP? I thought I read somewhere folks were getting $2k-3k off MSRP on the Off-road premiums. I love the Terra color on the Pro. And the Solar Octane on the ORP. Anyone buy recently?

It’s probably gonna be, what you see is what you get. 5th gen production is winding down or maybe over?

It’s gonna vary so widely, you’re gonna have to cast a wiiiide net and pick from what’s available on the ground.

Picked up an off-road premium today in Barcelona red. 46772. The sticker was 50844. It was 4072 below MSRP.

I wanted a 2024 Pro before the 5th gen wasn’t available anymore. I went to the dealer and the salesman said good luck. You probably won’t find one. He showed me his allocation list and he only had 3 Pros on the allocation list that were already sold. We looked at ORPs and there were quite a bit. I put my name on one. It was supposed to be built in late July to early August. He said I would get it a couple weeks later. A week later I went by the dealership and decided I should at least test drive one. So I test drove an SR5 and also a used TRD Pro that showed up the day before. I absolutely fell in love with the suspension and soft ride of the Pro. It was a 2022 Lime Rush with lots of aftermarket stuff already done to it. Lopro roof rack, suspension lift (Westcott Design for Pro Fox suspension), window tint etc. It had 12,000 miles on it. I ended up buying it on the spot. I am so happy I did. I love it. It was way cheaper than what I would have paid for the ORP. Did I want new? Yes. But I really wanted a Pro especially after I drove it. That was on July 2nd.
Went by the dealership the other day and there were 3 more used Pros very similar to mine in miles for sale. Don’t settle for something else if you want the Pro or whatever you want.
People are buying these and then trading them in for something else and they have very low miles. They probably want newer, more tech. I specifically wanted a new 5th gen with a V6 before they were gone. I’m glad I found the used Pro and couldn’t be happier.

Production had already ended, so just shop around, including out of state depending on your appetite for travel.

I got $5300 off sticker, and to be honest, was pretty surprised. Probably helped that I had a high-value trade (low mile Taco). An ORP in the mid-40’s versus prying a Pro from the dealer’s hands for high 50’s for me was a no-brainer, especially when we can’t yet gauge demand & pricing for the new ones.

With production shutting off, deals will vary by region and supply on the ground. Dealers are eager to hit numbers, but your color selection will be limited.

Suspension is just a wear n tear component. You can achieve the same feeling with a couple thousands $, with any trim of 4R. The 4r pro is just an accessories trim.

If you're a Costco member, inquire through their car buying program. They quoted a price for an ORP that was $3500 under TSRP.

Wow that's a good deal. The ORP with KDSS in Solar Octane they are asking $52k so I'm trying to figure what to come in at. I know the Solar Octane is harder to find and they might use the "it's a desirable color" or something to get a higher price.

A 2 yr old TRD Pro goes for more than a new TRD ORP around here (just saw one today with 44k miles and they're asking $55645 for it). I'd have been suspicious of a TRD Pro with only 12k miles going for less than a TRD ORP (let alone "way cheaper", that's massive depreciation that we just don't see with 4runners. You sure it's not something else done to look like a Pro? (wouldn't be the first time a dealer sold something claiming it is what it isn't). If it really is a Pro, congrats, sound like you got a steal.

I just bought a Solar Octane in June. Put a deposit down as soon as it showed up on Toyota's inventory site. Apparently there was a lot of interest in it but fortunately I was the first to call. I paid MSRP. No regrets considering how rare the color is. Beautiful color in person!

I was thinking they might not budge with the Solar Octane color. My wife and I like the Terra on the Pro but might be just out of reach money wise. The Solar is nice though too. Not a fan of white or black colors and we've had too many gray colored cars in the past.

That puts you in a tough spot. NJ dealers don't get good allocations of 4Rs, so new vehicle prices are higher than in other regions. I bought mine in PA.

I would think Solar Octane would be less expensive than one of the better colors. Seems like the ugly colors, like Solar Octane, would be harder to get rid of and they might lower the price as they sat on the lots longer.

Most of the local Toyota dealers near me in South Jersey seem to mark them up still. So I have been searching in PA mostly and found more selection and seems to be better on price too.

I heard the opposite actually. A lot seem to hate the Terra color on the Pro but prices are the same and it's exclusive color. Same with Solar Octane on the ORP. The one I am looking at is still not on the lot yet. Seems like the past week or so a lot of allotments were given out, probably the last of the 5th Gens. For instance the Terra color Pro I had trouble finding locally the past 2 months. But now some dealers in PA have 3 coming in.

Thanks for helping out. I am willing to drive for a decent deal and what I want and Maryland isn't too far. Going to be doing a trade in as well so I would think cross country wouldn't work.
Trying to find one with KDSS but they are harder to find and search for.

Yeah, the regional distributor behind the NJ dealers doesn't get KDSS models. The dealers make you pay through the nose for it if you want a cross-distributor deal. I gave on that feature because I couldn't get a good price within a day's drive.

There are a few KDSS in Jersey but only white and black from what I have seen. The dealers close to me tend to be higher than the Philly PA area dealers though. So I'm looking there and elsewhere in a 200-mile area or so.

I’m in Denver and the dealers had no solar octane. Found 1 dealer on CO Springs that had 1 (buyer backed out) and got 1.5k off. Around here TRD ORPs are usually sold before hitting the ground.

That said I was desperate to get rid of my POS ‘21 BMW X3 M40i. I strayed from Toyota for a few years and I came running back for the quality.

    Lol, yeah I’m sure it’s a pro. I wouldn’t have bought a knockoff. And I agree, I did get a steal.
I went back to the dealer a month or so later for oil filters for my Tacoma and Highlander and walked over and looked at what they had on the lot and there were 3 more used Pros. All 3 were white and miles were 9,000, 21,000 and 16,000. Prices were $63,000-$68,000.
I think they realized they priced mine a little low.

I just picked up my truck in south Florida. MSRP was just under 50k

The 1498 the dealer added running bars, mats, wheel locks, tint and other bullshit. TRUST ME I KNOW THIS WAS 100% MARKUP. But at the end of the day they originally wanted 3k for it… I didn’t have it in me to fight over the other 1500. Plus my wife wanted steps and it would have cost me money to install them.
