I just got my brand new 24’ TRD ORP this weekend and on my first drive up to the mountains Sunday I noticed that there is a noise, kind of like a squealing high pitched but semi quiet noise, when turning either at a decline or level ground. Sometimes after a turn and not just during it also. No shaking or any type of vibration or feeling of any sort. Just the noise.

I have KDSS so idk if it’s the suspension and it’s normal but being brand new I don’t think it should make any noise. Any ideas what this could be? Is it normal or should I just take it in already?

    TYIA!!

    Let me see.

Less than a week old - check
    Under Warranty - check
Making Noise - Take it in. If anything it gets documented

Wet fan belt? (since there's more load on the power steering pump when turning) Did you drive through any water?

Nope. Drove from SF to Visalia. Then a cruise through Sequoia NP. There wasn’t any rain, puddles, rivers etc. it wasn’t even misty when I left SF.

^If it's still making the noise, take it in and ask the mechanic to do a ride along.

Yes I think I’m just going to do that. Better safe than sorry. I couldn’t find anything anywhere that is like what I’m hearing and it’s driving me crazy! Thanks

Do you have kids? Do they ride in the back? Do they play clarinet, quietly?

Also, "better safe than sorry" never worked for me. You might try to live a little.
