Alright, who's anniversary 4runner was this stuck on a sandbar in Oregon as the tide came in?

Not good optics for our team.... Looks like that first image isn't anything Crawl Control couldn't handle... Barely up to the center of the wheels... No biggy... Maybe something else wrong????

Sucky part is the news article showed a video of what looked like a caravan of vehicles with them before it got stuck - including what looked like a jeep with a winch.

I wouldn't travel with that group again if they couldn't get me off the sandbar

What Stormtrooper Said! Ditto! The Jeep guy probably couldn't see where he was going because his windshield was plastered with rubber ducks.

I was wrong, the "convoy" from the video was actually the rescue vehicles. Guess they were alone.

I guess the Search and Rescue decal on the 4R doesn't really mean anything. Unless it's talking about fish.

FWIW, there are three black 40th Anniversary 4Runners in the official thread. Two of them can be ruled out from distinguishing characteristics.

After being submerged in saltwater the only thing left to do is salvage the tires and wheels and tent .
Junk the rest of it .

Team huh? With 2 million 5th gens sold (one-third of the 40 years is one gen), fuckery is a mathematical certainty.

I've driven on that beach, what the hell was he doing driving so close to the tide line? There are also easily accessible tide charts that tell you when low and high tide are.

I've driven that beach but not in my 4Runner but when I had my FJ. My Dad lives about 1/2 mile from the beach. I believe at a certain point you can drive all the way to Astoria on the beach. Thinking it was about a 15 mile stretch. I would only do it at low tide and wouldn't even go near the water.

There seems to be an unrealistic expectation of what 4lo, a locker, and "crawl control" can get you out of. Flooded, slippery silty mud, sandy mud or gumbo of even modest depth can eat a non-heavily modified 4Runner. Even aired down. Mudders may help. Once you get soup up to the height of the front axle and skid plate...good luck,B.
