Greetings all. Working on my daughter's 1988 4runner to sell it.

Trying to get the thing up to speed so the new owner has no troubles. Freeing up the hand-e brake and noticed the LSPV seems pretty rusted up....noted the control rod is bent in odd form....thinking its' not working...in fact checked rear brakes and there's no pressure back there at all. Can I remove/bypass the LSPV without any trouble? I see on the UTubes that people are doing that, especially with the raised suspension.....

Anyway, I'm having a great time. This 4runner is in New England after most of its life in Florida. 365,000 miles....runs like a swiss watch. Doing a little panel repair...probably will paint the whole thing.

Where are people getting parts? Of course e-bay...but is there a specialty shop that has 4runner
parts? License plate light, spare tire crank up winch?

Thanks in advance for the welcome

    Oooh look, another mod.....

    First off: Welcome!

Now, parts are going to be scarce for an 88, due to a small amount of them being on the road. Here are a few links for sites that have engine/tranny/body parts:

When you get a chance, post up some pictures of the 88'. I'm curious to see the before/after.
