Hey everyone newbie here. I am struggling to find help with this so I figured someone here might would know the answer. We recently bought our 4Runner (2020 ORP) and realized it had a leveling kit in the front. But we’re not sure about the rear and wanted to get some clarification. Best we can tell it’s only the front since we can see the puck on top of the strut. But in the rear there doesn’t seem to be anything other than a bucket. However there isn’t a spring bump stop like I’ve seen on all the 4 runner vids on the rear. So I’m thinking maybe they did do a lift in the rear and for some reason didn’t put back the bump stops? Or why would they be gone anyways and how bad is it to not have them? Pic included (sorry for the bad angle) TIA

2” lift Bilstein 6112 w/600 lb coils front, 1.5” lift Eibach T13 coils rear, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, TRD skidplate, TRD stainless catback w/black TRD side exhaust, TRD shifter handle, Weathertech bug deflector, 20% tint front, LED door bulbs, 285/70/17 Falken WP AT3, Energy Suspension front bumpstops, SSO Slimline Bumper w/ Badland Shackles, Durobumps 4.25” rear
so they only did a spring spacer and removed the stock inner coil bump. But the real bump stop is in the attached pic top left. This hita the axle if downward compression travel is excessive.

Ok thank you! With that in mind, I’m removing the lift and while I have it tore apart, should I go ahead and put back an inner coil bumper? Or is it really not needed?

I think you are fine as is but if you remove the spacer are you going to be level or sagging in rear?

I’ll be removing the front spacer as well. Just wanted to go back to stock height since it’s my wives car and she def won’t be doing anything crazy with it.

imo, id leave it as is front/rear. If you remove the front spacer im sure you’ll need an alignment.

I would reinstall the inner coil bump stop. I think it contacts the axle before it contacts the frame mounted bumpstop. They work together. Without it, bottoming out will be very harsh, since the frame mounted stop doesn’t look progressive like the in er coil stop.

I also suspect the inner bumpstop may more often contact the axle and help the rear suspension work correctly, especially with the softer stock springs.
