After reading online that 4runners want 75w85 gear oil in the transfer cased and diff, i went and bough some Motul Motylgear 75w85 gear oil.
Then i get home and then decide to look in the owners manual and i see it calls for 75w90 hypoid gear oil in the transfer and 80w90 hypoid in the diffs.
What the hell.. can i use what i bought or is it inferior to the called for spec in the manual.

    Its a 2006 4.7 v8 4x4.
    Thanks for any input.

It wouldn't concern me in the case, if it's part-time, but I would use what's specd for the diffs.

If its returnable I'm assuming its not open.

So why not get the recommended oil? The hours spent waiting for a reply in this thread you would have the oil sitting at home already.
