Has anyone taken of their 22R exhaust manifold and replaced the gasket? Have a loud leak and assume that is where it is coming from. Wondering how much work and risk is involved.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
I bet it is one or both of your exhaust ‘donuts’ where the cast manifold connects to the exhaust. Not hard to do.

Sorry for the delay is responding. I checked for the leak using the exhaust end of a shop vac shoved up the tailpipe and sudsy water, and you were correct; leaking at that flange. You also solved my earlier search problem for the gasket for this connection... couldn't find the part number, and the gaskets sites claimed to make the match based on my year would not match up to the flanges, and gaskets I felt were dimensionally correct said it was wrong for the truck. But when I googled "exhaust donuts" (which I had never heard of) for my year, BAM, they popped right up. Just disconnected everything and now waiting for the donuts to arrive. Many thanks!!

I’m old and donuts are kind of an old school description. Glad it helped.

Got the donuts today and installed, and no improvement. Ran air again through the tailpipe and this time reached down way below the manifold and there was a huge amount of air flowing out. Felt around trying to locate source. Seems to be a long leak along the bottom of the manifold. I guess the air from this leak fooled me into seeing the leak at the other flange. So, I guess I will have to remove the manifold and see what I'm up against.

    Any luck with the fix?

Check the downpipe "y" for a crack. Very common failure point.
