What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Installed the CVT awning on my LFD crossbars. I used it to camp last weekend and it was terrific.

 

Geez! Molson. I hadn't seen that stuff in AGES! I remember as a teen (the 90s) they used to advertise the hell of that on cable tv.

 

Installed DX4 BEAST 17 X8.5 6-139.70 0 BZMTXX for my 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium.

 

Looking good! Bronze with black is such a great combination. I would actually compliment that with bronze Toyota badging upfront and 4runner badge on the tail gate.
I almost went with the Bronze TRD wheels but eventually just got the bronze wheel caps.

 

I have mainly been heating up my credit card, but I will install several items in the coming days. Tuesday is the install day for Bilstein 8112/8100 suspension at 3" up front and using OME 2895 rear springs rated at 2"-2.5" of lift. My installer will also add extended brake lines, DuroBump bump stops, a Dr. KDSS bolt-on hard pan bar relocation bracket, and an Icon front sway bar relocation kit, along with Dobinsons UCA's and adjustable rear sway bar links. I will have him install the ARK front fender well splash guards while they are in there. I recently ordered Diode Dynamics SS3 Max amber fog lights, a Diode Dynamics C1R hitch light, Rock Blokz mud flaps, and a Toyota OEM Pro grille. Today, I contacted an OTT tuner and will likely go with the medium tune once everything is installed. I ordered Wescott Design 20-degree rock sliders a while back, and I hope those arrive soon. My 2024 Off Road has the silver valances front and rear that I have considered replacing with black, but on my white rig, I kind of like the silver for now. I'll post pics soon!

 

i have a complete trail edition roof rack that I just took off. havent posted it anywhere yet, but will probably sell it. pm me if youre interested.

 

If you want to sell just the crossbars let me know, I've been on the search for a 2nd set.

 

Did a mild viper cut to eliminate some rubbing issues and for better approach angle .

Finally got fluid film installed. I am told there would be a smell for next few days and I can not wash underbody as often.

 

Yup, no need to spray under there anymore and absolutely do not go through any of the car washes with the underbody sprayers.

The smell goes away in a week or two. Park outside for a couple days as well so it doesnt drip in your garage if you park inside.

 

The other one that used to get advertised was Labatt Blue. Again, I haven't seen it advertised in ages or in grocery stores this far south in Mississippi.

 

Completed my Greenlane immersion with the wee widdle wadder install. I really like how incredibly light it is at ~8lbs.

Rotated tires, changed oil and filter and gave a foam wash. Love that Chemical Guys make their products smell good!

 

Got out with some Toyota buddies at Rausch Creek last Sunday.

 

How were the trails? There's been a lot of rain lately, especially further east.

 

The trails were fine. I asked about if when we checked in. They said they drain pretty fast.

 

Forgot to post that I installed an RCI roof rack on my truck a few weeks ago. Install was pretty straightforward other than the part where two 5'10 dudes trying to get it on the roof.







And for fun, last weekend I needed to bring my old basket to my friends house to install it on his jeep. And the only option I could think of was Mount to the roof rack

 

Removed Pedal Commander after I started recieving throttle.position sensor and pre collision errors.

Now that it's removed no more issues... it was fun to play with for the few months I've owned it.

In hindsight I wish I went more conservative with the viper cut, or none at all, they don’t look great from the side. But, my Runner is paid off, it’s just for fun, before I ditch the bumper cover for steel bumper (I’m one of the few interested in going with an old school dom style bumper w/ a big stinger bar).

Question:
It’s hard to see in your photos, what’d you do with the two bumper cover mounting points on either side of the valance? They fasten to metal brackets.
Most folks cut a funky curved line down there and keep these intact. Some cut them off. I kept these mounting points but sanded, sprayed black, bent brackets upward to make them disappear..

Can’t help but wonder how do you fit two feet on one step to stand like normal and actually access the roof rack? And, wouldn’t the tow of your shoe make contact with the paint?

I stand on the sliders and tires so I can access both sides, and then I want to grab one of these little guys off Amazon for my second foot, and call it a day (I’m only 175lbs)

 

LOL we can’t buy beer in grocery stores but we still got old Labatt Blue in most places up in Americas top hat
And 5% is our standard lager
