Picked up a set of universal window screens on prime day for car camping adventures. They fit perfectly and are low cost. Check them out at my Car Camping Mattress Page.

I blacked out both rear door panels today, only the two front door panels, some trim and seatbelts are left for the all black interior.

After trying to modify some flip up license plate covers for the front bumper, I decided to make it more simple and it came together alright, trim the plate and make it fit:

After seeing the great result from replacing my tailgate's weather seal moudling, I decided to do the 4 passenger doors too. It was in pretty rough shape, so the new ones are a nice upgrade.

Couple of before pics including just the pieces after removing them:

    And the new ones installed:

Also did a couple of maintenance items, cabin air filter and rear wiper.

Nothing big for me just refreshed the front braking system.
PowerStop Z23 Rotors and Brake Pads.
    Raybestos (brand new) calipers.
    Some RockAuto special flex lines.
While I was at it, and since I had to bleed the brake system, I decided to flush the brake fluid again... I did it 10K miles ago, but I was already there, and brake fluid is not too expensive.
I did the bed-in procedure, and it feels very nice not pulling to one side or pulsating when braking.

Greatest thing to replace but often forgotten or ignored! Nice work! I did a brake update with powerstop calipers and DBA rotors and pads. Definitely an upgrade to what I had (OEM)!

Greased my slip yoke. Got rid of my 'clunk' on takeoffs. I had greased it previously but obviously did not put enough grease in. I pumped until I saw the driveshaft move away from the transmission (like a millimeter) and then released the pressure from the zerk. Greased the rest of the zerks on the driveline while i was underneath as well.

I had that problem with my 2002 Xterra. Solved it with Duplicolor Trim & Bumper paint. You have to do the prep as directed but the results are terrific. Mine still looked great 3 years later when I sold it.

Step panel on the bumper painted, remainder as it looked before.

    I use this:

    Solution Finish - Black Plastic &... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NZRAFE?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I like it because it’s actually a black liquid so not only does it restore plastic but it almost dyes it black at the same time.

Did my 250K oil change. Oil looked damn near new coming out after the 5k interval.

I also spray painted my front skid plate black... just freshen up the front end a bit.

Pulled off my windshield reveal moulding after it decided to come loose and start flapping around on the freeway. New one has been ordered, so I've got my next minor task to do this weekend, while I'm sitting at home babysitting a brisket on the smoker.

Disabled my goofy tps light. Didnt have one of those fancy connecters people use, so just unplugged the clip and stuck a peice of copper wire in two slots to cancel it out, taped it up and left it unplugged. Light is now out.

Changed the oil (260K) and replaced my Fumoto valve with a Valvomax. Nothing wrong with the Fumoto, I just like how the Valvomax works and the recovery bags for taking oil for recycling.

What are your recommendations for testing out 4LO on a 4runner that i have no idea the last time 4LO was actuated? This is my DD and my family vehicle, so i don't want it to A. get into 4LO then not disengage and be stuck in 4LO, B. break something trying to engage 4LO.

I've owned her since March of 2023 and i have never tried going into 4LO, so i know at least its been a year and a half. My parents owned it before me, and i asked my stepdad when he last did it and his response was well since its full time 4wd we've never needed to. I don't need to go into 4LO, but also don't want to 'lose' it since its been so long, or maybe its already been too long.

On my Tacoma i don't do it enough, but i engage all the 4wd stuff somewhat regularly (not 10 miles per month like you're supposed to) more like 1/4 mile every 3 months, lol. But everything still works fine on it and it has no trouble getting in and out of all the 4wd selections.

If it goes I dont think it will get stuck, from my investigation into it, its more likely to not go in if hasnt been used for years and will just flash at you.. make sure to be in neutral for the switch. I just tried my down hill assist, everything worked well and i have no idea when 4lo or the down hill assist has been used.

Realised my new to me 4r is missing the thin trim peices on the out side of all 4 doors. Heck of a time trying to find those part numbers with certainty on the diagrams.

Which "thin trim pieces" are you referring too?

Exactly where on the door is this trim piece?
