What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Wiped it down this morning, got gas. Made a run to Costco for a fresh Jumbo sized bottle of J.D. Enjoying such now!

 

What year is your 4Runner? Does your not use a standard oil school sprin on/off oil filter? Is that set up for a paper filter?

 

Not much lately. After 38,000 miles 4Runner is getting boring lol. Thinking of of some change for a couple of days

 

Mine is a 2024 ORP. I believe all 5th gen 4Runners use the paper filter vs the old school canister style. I use the motive filter drain hose and their cap screw to make it super simple to take off and on.

 

I'm about to hit 70k. Took the Gobi off for a good roof cleaning and some touchup paint because I fucked up and messed up the PC. Good wash after the beach and clean up under the KDSS skid and we're good to go

 

I have a widebody cat pack professionally lowered that I hit the local mountains with. Lighter by 150lbs up front without the SC, hollow sways instead of solid sways on the Hellcat. Much better power distribution for the street and about half the cost of a Hellcat. It provides a great alternative to my 4Runner when I want some on road fun. Very comfortable car with all the luxuries and tech. Great stereo. Get a wide body. Tons of compliments and it just looks so much better imo. Good luck. Do it.

Edit: I noticed you just want to rent one. Do it. Your 4Runner will feel like it has 100hp afterwards.

 

Well I'm not sure this works well for me. I watched their vid on Amazon of how to put that stuff on. It's non-high temp area or areas with high humidity. Well Missi'ppi is both of those...

Scs makes the most beautiful wheels bar none. But the negative offset must cause some headaches with larger tires…

 

Finished my sleeping platform build. Main objective was to maximize space underneath while being able to sit up somewhat comfortably.

 

It's a marker that shows where you're supposed to tighten the filter cap to (there's another mark on the filter housing and they are both supposed to align). In the real world they both don't really align and most people end up going past the marker line on the housing when tightening the filter cap to the proper torque.

 

Wife gave me the greenlight to mod the 4runner to make it our trail rig. Made a list for full skid plates, rock sliders, portable air compressor, bumpers (not sure what brand yet), winch, and full roof rack. Emailed the list to my wife for funds

 

Took her on a roadtrip to East TN so the wifey and I could hike some trails and explore some small towns. Good time celebrating 24 years of marriage.
Man that makes me feel old typing that.

 

Today I installed the Lasfit LED back up lights . Huge difference from stock .

My wife and I brought my son and his family to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Great trip beautiful scenery and wildlife. The truck ran great.

86271 0E076? Nice...!! I have little old 86271-0E075, its good to see new cards keep coming with updates.
I wish my 2021 have the SD card without having to pay $80/yr to Toyota.

 

Looks good and durable. One suggestion would be to cover the area of the tilted-forward seat bottoms. If the dogs drool while they are up there looking out front, it will stain the seat material.

 

Discovered this on my Toyo's with about 3700 miles on them. Not sure if it's a manufacturing defect or trail damaged from when I was in Utah.

 

I'm ok with awkward till we need tires.

 

Go back to where you bought the Toyo tires and tell them you want a new set. Don't mention you were off roading, say you only use your vehicle to take your Grandma shopping and to her Doctor's appointments.

 

Pecron 500W Car Charger (DC1242-500) showed up; easy to install but otherwise meh. It's more like a 200w charger.

 

Ouch. I almost just ordered a set for the tundra. But to be fair I’ve seen this same thing on other top brands as well. Most likely from trail use.
