4Runner transfer case

Hello all, I have a tech question concerning my transfer case, the 4Runner I purchased is an SR5 base, with the basic J shaped shifting configuration with no stock DIFF locker, I use it as my daily driver and also plan on using it on Moderate trails eventually. That being said is my transfer case still a good option or did I make the wrong purchase with the other styles that are out there

These are the most reliable 4x4 out there. I've had many many Toyotas that have the same style T case. never had issues, and the are Tanks off road. E-locker would be nice though

 

In anyone's opinion is it worth going through the process and spending the money to put on a diff-locker when using it as a daily driver and moderate trails? Of course that could change the more I get out on the trails and play. Thank you for your input

 

Depends on the trails you drive on. I've had my 3rd Gen with E-Locker for 10 years. The only place where I felt it was really beneficial was rock crawling in Uwharrie. I do use t when pulling stumps around my cottage but during most of the wheeling I do I don't use or need it. On slippery snowy sidehills it is more of a hindrance.
