Did first 1k mile break in oil change today. 0W20 Valvoline full synthetic. Probably waste of $107 but hopefully my engine appreciates the sweet golden Valvoline nectar.

Installed MESO map lights, but everyone knows what they look like. Other than that, nothing.

Are you going to the Concours D’Elegance?
I ceramic coated mine almost 6 years ago. Totally worth it IMO.
Looks better than any new one after ceramic. Now baptism by dirt, rocks, rain and snow. Enjoy.

Took delivery of my 2024 ORP several weeks ago. Started with a DECON wash, light paint correction and ceramic coated with Crystal Serum Light and then Exo 5. Paint looks amazing. Installed a TRD Pro Grill and black front valance and removed Predator bars (now for sale). Had all of the windows tinted (70% rear and sides/35% front) and PPF on the front hood. Finally, picked up a set of the new style TRD Pro wheels with new Falken Wildpeak AT4's. Before and after photos below.

yea it looked like it skipped leg day.

@BrianB24 guessing you’re on stock tires? If you don’t want to commit to 285 you could put 275 tires. I think it would look less awkward

Out with the old, in with the new. Traded in my 2021 Nautical Blue TRD Off Road for 2024 Solar Octane TRD Off Road. Originally had a deposit down on a 2025 6th gen but when I saw it and the compromises that it has that I wouldn't want for my use case, I flipped the deposit to the Solar Octane 5th gen that the sales manager was pretty confident he could get.

Now to install all the stuff I took off the old 4R before trading it in. Already re and re'd the Pro wheels with Toyo R/T Trails, this weekend Greenlane sliders, early Trail Edition roof rails, black lug nuts and new OEM TRD Pro black front & rear valances (overnight parts from Japan yo!) go on.

Just did my 4Runners first oil change. I decided to do it myself, I don’t trust the dealer will but the oil drain door back or find out I’m missing bolts from my skid plate. Got the oil reminder today, I’m at 4500 miles on the odometer.

Anyway, my used 4Runner I had a while back didn’t have this and I’m assuming it’s a factory clip that gets removed and not used again but figured I’d ask. Anyone know the reason this clip was put there on the oil filter cap? Factory clip for some reason?

    Any ideas?

What year is your 4Runner? Does your not use a standard oil school sprin on/off oil filter? Is that set up for a paper filter?

Not much lately. After 38,000 miles 4Runner is getting boring lol. Thinking of of some change for a couple of days :)

Mine is a 2024 ORP. I believe all 5th gen 4Runners use the paper filter vs the old school canister style. I use the motive filter drain hose and their cap screw to make it super simple to take off and on.

I'm about to hit 70k. Took the Gobi off for a good roof cleaning and some touchup paint because I fucked up and messed up the PC. Good wash after the beach and clean up under the KDSS skid and we're good to go

I have a widebody cat pack professionally lowered that I hit the local mountains with. Lighter by 150lbs up front without the SC, hollow sways instead of solid sways on the Hellcat. Much better power distribution for the street and about half the cost of a Hellcat. It provides a great alternative to my 4Runner when I want some on road fun. Very comfortable car with all the luxuries and tech. Great stereo. Get a wide body. Tons of compliments and it just looks so much better imo. Good luck. Do it.

Edit: I noticed you just want to rent one. Do it. Your 4Runner will feel like it has 100hp afterwards.

Well I'm not sure this works well for me. I watched their vid on Amazon of how to put that stuff on. It's non-high temp area or areas with high humidity. Well Missi'ppi is both of those...

Scs makes the most beautiful wheels bar none. But the negative offset must cause some headaches with larger tires…

It's a marker that shows where you're supposed to tighten the filter cap to (there's another mark on the filter housing and they are both supposed to align). In the real world they both don't really align and most people end up going past the marker line on the housing when tightening the filter cap to the proper torque.

Wife gave me the greenlight to mod the 4runner to make it our trail rig. Made a list for full skid plates, rock sliders, portable air compressor, bumpers (not sure what brand yet), winch, and full roof rack. Emailed the list to my wife for funds :D
