Chris Cardenas, the owner of Cardenas Legacy Tequila, came through town. He met with and dropped off a couple bottles of their blanco and repo that will be released in Colorado in the next few months. Nice guy, acceptable tequila.

Alma Del Jaguar’s distribute dropped in with the brand rep to give us a preview of their Blanco and Reposado that will be hitting Colorado shelves soon.

Production at NOM1414 starts with Highland agave that is brick oven cooked before it makes a single pass through a roller mill. Deep well water is used throughout production. Open air fermentation takes place in stainless tanks, 80% uses ambient yeast and 20% uses champagne yeast - of course Sergio Cruz’s famed Motzart method is applied. It’s all double distilled in copper pots then blended, diluted, and bottled completely unfiltered at 40% ABV. They use 100% recycled glass bottles, labels made from spent agave fibers, repurposed corks, and packed into recycled cardboard boxes.

The resulting blanco is a good tequila that becomes great at its price point. We had mixed opinions on the repo but we’re excited to try the high proof that releases soon.

Morgan and I were hired by Partida Tequila to host occasional chef’s menu tequila paired dinners at some restaurants around Denver. So the marketing director of the brand sent us a $600 care package today.

I don't think I've ever seen that brand. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them.

I forget, what size are you running? I know my 285 fits down there. I have never even tried with the 295, though.

Also, how do you like the kumho's? I had a set of those on my Tacoma, and aside from a slight high pitched road noise, I thought they were excellent tires especially for the price.

Edit, NM, I see that you're only using the Kumho as a spare.

    Also; no matching spare?? :boink:

How was the cristslino? I've tried a few, and I generally like them. So far, my favorite has been Komos.

I thought the Cristalino was very good, i have been trying to keep under $40.00 a bottle for the last few months. It’s a challenge for sure, i have not tried the Komos.

Is this one of your usual Mezcals? I've tried a few, and so far Xicala and Los Tonas (Añejo) have been my favorites. But, we seem to have a limited selection in Wisconsin.

That's a challenge for sure! I think the only Tequila I have under $40 are my mixers. The Komos was ~$75 for a little 375ML bottle. o_O

Not really=I have to order it and have it shipped or buy it in AZ when I visit my daughter. Otherwise, it's Monte Alban. It is my favorite because I like the gold better than the silver for shots and it's what I "grew up on" while surfing in Baja and on trips South.

I'll have to keep an eye out Monte Alban.

Sadly, I didn't grow up on any type of Tequila or Mezcal. I did a few shots of cheap Tequila when I was young, and thought I hated it for years.

As i have been experiencing, there are some very good cheaper Tequilas out there. I went through the same process when I was younger, and just doing shooters until you pass out. Now that i am officially an old fart i am a sipper, i can actually taste it this way.

Yeah, I haven't been big on doing shots for a long time. But, I'll still do them occasionally, if that's the kind of night it is.
