I guess I don’t look my age, so nobody gives it much thought. I’m in a meeting last week and several people were complaining about aches and pains. So I dropped the “Do you realize that I could be everyone in this rooms father?” Line. The surprised looks were great.

Lol.. I'm 38, still feel pretty damn good, but yes, I get tired of hearing the younger guys bitch , when I was their age, I was in pretty good shape, always active, outdoors, sports, cycling, hiking etc... and now, everyone's glued to video games....

When I was 38 I was in as good a shape or even better shape than I was in my 20s.

83 and most of my off roading consist of trying to get out of the ditch in front of the house. First car was a 1946 Chevrolet suburban that was a work truck that my Father had retired and still love the memories of it.

Only 63 yrs. young... feels like 25 some days... some days 85. Went into the Marine Corp 3 days after high school, at 21 started driving trucks/farming, and the driving truck thing has been 42 yrs now, retirement is 1 1/2 yrs away, and probably still going to drive for parttime. I'm looking forward for the retirement thing because whenever there is a 4Runner get-together here in Wisconsin, my schedule just screws things up. Almost forgot.. Old Fart... ya I get called that plenty.. I work for a couple of 26 yr. olds! let's see.... Old Fart hmmm, yep, I is one!

I am 70 and have been retired for 8 years. My old career was a helicopter mechanic, my new career is driving every BLM dirt road in Nevada, southern Utah and the Arizona Strip.

Reread what I wrote. I retired at 56 as soon as I was eligible. I am 60 now. I worked for DOD and hated my job which is why I retired at 56.

Sounds familiar, I put about 800 miles on my 4Runner in the last 3 weeks or so since it became mine and that includes 600 miles on dirt, lol.

Am in the middle of the pack here, age wise.

Winding down a multi month long solo trip. Wife flies in when near civilization for a handful of days (dispersed camping not her thing).

She's been holding down the fort in my absence. Couple months in when she figured out what my normal day-to-day responsibilities are, with a couple minor emergencies thrown-in......she apologized for decades of "honey-do's. Twice!

If I'd a known then..........this trip would have taken place closer to VTECMoonWalker's age than now.

A two-week road trip down to SoCal down to SoCal to attend a memorial service for my SIL: down Hwy 97, to Hwy 395 to Carson City, then Apple Valley, then Seal Beach together with visiting friends and relatives, back up Monterey to visit a niece and her kids, then back up Hwy 97 via Shasta and home. Taking the 4Runner. Maybe a few side trips such as Bodie, Lava Beds N.M., maybe stops at Manzanar and Tule Lake "Relocation" camps, a couple of fossil sites and Monterey Aquarium.

Spent many years going up and down Hwy 395 through the High Sierra’s. Many years ago my daughter did a class project on Manazar. I think she was around 8 years old and she is 42 now. All our family vacations during those years was camping/fishing the lakes and streams on Tioga Pass Road and June Lake Loop. Lots of memories.

First visited Manzanar & Bodie ~50 years ago. Fished Tioga Pass and did a little rock climbing (bouldering) in Tuolumne Meadow. Learned to x-country ski at Badger Pass, outside of Mammoth. Now, I try to visit Native American rock art along Hwy 395.

My wife and I have known each other since 1979. She still turns and walks away in Wal mart when I start dancing to Michel Jackson. Growing up only leads to dying and I'm not all about that!

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
68 going on 14………69 in September. Retired since the summer of 2016. I’ve had 83, 85 and 86 Toyota PU’s, wish I still had the 85.
Bought the 90 4R(Goldie) when our 1st boy was on the way, the 4dr came just in time. It was the wife’s soccer mom vehicle the first 14yrs.
Brought both my boys home from the hospital in it, they both learned how to drive in it…..and how to get it stuck…..then my youngest boy’s 6yr college vehicle.
I have it back for my high desert exploration ride.
Wife is going in this AM for a knee replacement….it will put a damper on my activities for a bit.
Growing up/getting old sucks, but still having birthdays is a good thing, considering the alternative….

I can relate to the caregiver status.
Just as we were working on getting our 22 4R the wife’s vision took a terrible turn for the worst, it was supposed to be her ride. Now her knee is blown out and getting a complete knee replacement in about 2hrs from now. I am her chauffeur/eyes 100% of the time now.
