So this isn’t my 4R, and it’s not the most scenic but thought it would be interesting. HI residents already know this but it was a big surprise to me- we just came back from 10days on Oahu and the big island in Hawaii and they use 4Runners as police cruisers there!!! Mostly white Pro’s and TRD OffRoads.


I think the deal is the cops have the option of taking extra pay to use their own personal vehicle and these are privately owned? 4Runners are realllly popular on the islands..

I haven't done Imogene, but I did Engineer stock other than KO2's and that was pre-lift. No scraping for me either.

hehe, seriously bummed I didn't get a photo of the wreck.

Someone in a volvo went off the edge the previous night. The CHP got there right after us, but the driver was gone. The car was actually in good shape, hadn't rolled or hit anything big.

Not the first time I've followed skid marks to a wreck. Always a WTF? moment, like you're expecting a wreck, but it is still crazy.

 

Probably felt like ball bearings when they hit that gravel. Yikes.

Edit: I earned one pinstrip squeezing my way between the trees - funnily enough it was in the exact same spot as on my old car - a time when I backed into a bush attempting to maneuver when the trail ended.

 

A bit of a hazy day in the Cascades.

 

Camped out with a bunch of Texas 4runners & Cruisers on Henry's Fork in Idaho.

Then my 4Runner took me to a trailhead to backpack to Alaska Basin and the Devil's Staircase in the Jedediah Wilderness on the edge of Teton NP. Wildflowers are at peak there right now.

 

Had a blast last week in the San Juans with the Rocky Mountain Toyota Roundup. My wife probably took over a thousand pictures, I however was driving so I had to grab a few shots from her phone.
