    Hi folks!

I have a bit of a conundrum identifying exactly which version of the 2023 4Runner TRD Off Road I have. I bought it through Carvana a couple of months ago and thought I had purchased a plain ol' Off Road, according to their description. But after doing some research, I feel as though I have hit a dead end on the quest for a definitive answer.

One resource claims that if the vehicle has the "grill sensor" (not certain the exact name of it), then it's definitely a Premium. Another said that if it has the side mirrors with built-in turn signals, then it's definitely a Premium. Yet another claims that if it has the off road controls (crawl feature, etc) on the overhead console, then it's definitely a Premium, and yet another claims that if it has the "fancy" (not Pro) 17" alloy wheels, then it's a Premium, etc, etc, etc. Ugh.....

So, mine has the overhead console with off road controls, has the "grill sensor", has the 17" alloy wheels, and a few other Premium features....But....The side mirrors don't have the built-in turn signals. They're heated, and have the Blind spot reminder (the light that activates when there is a car to the left or right of you), but no turn signals or puddle lights.

I performed a VIN check and it shows under "trim" that's it's just an plain ol' Off Road. If that's the case, why all of the supposed "upgrades?

Thank you in advance for any insight. This whole thing started because I wanted to upgrade the OEM mirrors with the sequential turn signals that fold-in when the alarm is set...ugh

I’ve had both an off road premium and a regular off road. If you have cloth seats and no seat warmer you have a off road and if you have the softext with seat warmer you have the premium simple as that

Do you have fabric or vinyl seats? If vinyl, you have a premium.

See, that's what I thought too! Mine are fabric, but the door trim is padded with the red stitching like the vinyl seats would have if it were a Premium.

Since this was a rental car prior to me buying it (super low miles BTW), my immediate thought was perhaps some swapped out the seats and the rental company would most likely never catch it.

your regular off road won’t have the dials on the center console for the seat heater and lastly the off premium has pod lights underneath the driver and passenger side mirrors a regular non premium will not so go walk up to your mirrors and put your feet underneath them if they don’t light up no premium

also regular off road does not come with moonroof as option 99 percent of premiums have moon roof 1 percent do not

100 percent of regular off roads do not have moonroof

if i remember right regular non premium doesn’t have turn signals in the outside of mirror either
Both premium and non premium can have kdss has option (my non premium had kdss)

Here's the Toyota 2023 comparison of features in the OR and ORP. You have an OR.

The overhead console with off road controls & 17" alloy wheels come stock on every Off Road, premium or not.

Also, the ORP's have the indicator lights in the outside mirrors. The OR's don't.

    Cheers,
