Overheating

2006 4Runner. Replaced everything, Hoses, water pump, Thermostat, Radiator, Cap. 1.5 yrs later overheating again. Seems to be the OEM Fan Clutch again this time. Getting that replaced today (too hot outside to do myself- its Phoenix). After reading parts reviews it seems reliability even on OEM fan clutches is low. FYI I also had to buy 3 radiator caps (2 OEM caps leaked). Also FYI If you find your 4Runner overheating in traffic or at stop lights and want to save your engine- immediately roll down the windows and turn on your heater. If the temp goes down to normal you just might make it home. The radiator will expel coolant after you shut the engine off so top it off after things cool down and get the vehicle serviced.

 

Did you use distilled water to do the flush? Tap water with minerals and impurities cakes up and clog the passageways after a while.
