Or driven one? The wife saw a white one Saturday and is now interested in getting one at some point. I don't like that you can't remove the 3rd row seats. We travel quite a bit with our 2 dogs, too. I'm going to try to find a local dealer just to look at one and maybe test drive. It's not very often a vehicle catches her eye. But the Trd Pro did.

I don't have a Sequoia, but do have the 3rd gen Tundra, which besides the back 33% is essentially the same vehicle.

There has been growing pains as far as perceived build quality, with many saying rattling and cheap interior components. I think this is trim based however and especially early 2022 builds, as the SR5 up to the Capstone have wildly different interior materials.

The 3.5L hybrid is pretty dang great. Tons of power and decent fuel milage as long as you don't throw on 37's and drive like a jerk.

A big complaint about the rear of the Sequoia is the weird cargo set up. Watch videos on how it's configured, as some don't mind it, and others say it's a deal breaker.

At any rate, definitely test drive one. Personal opinion, they're badass trucks/SUV's.

Just so you know, it has less interior cargo space than the 4Runner now.

I've been watching some of the reviews on YouTube. Everyone mentions the lack of cargo space because of the way the 3rd row is set up and the batteries being back there.

I was on my way to work this morning, super early and pulled into the gas station for fuel and saw an 18 wheeler pulling out loaded down with new Toyotas. Top deck was a silver Sequoia and behind it was a white Highlander. I left my phone in my cup holder and couldnt reach and get it fast enough to take a pic, i wanted to come and talk about it. The highlander and sequoia were almost the SAME SIZE

I spent some time at the dealership. Starting from interior a/C vents I did not give me good vibes. When I opened the hood I started thinking to my self, this is a BMW more than a Toyota.

Fast forward to recent days now I'm reading more issues with that engine, in addition to Turbo waste gate failure Tundra got. Reminds me the famous YouTuber/Mechanic TheCarCareNut said that Turbo engines will never be reliable as N/A engines.

Currently I'm in a mindset that if I have to get a new vehicle for some reason I would buy some fun German or a spacious American vehicle and change it after 3‐5 years, why should I buy a reliable(ish) Toyota.

Doesn't seem possible. Is it due to third row? I saw one up close this week and it's massive!

I believe the cubic footage is technically slightly less. The third row is on a slightly elevated platform compared to the rest of the cargo area and doesn’t come out or fold flat like the 1st and previous generation respectively.

Combination of solid rear axle and hybrid battery taking up space.

The latest batch of Toyota BOF SUV’s has generally seemed like a packaging miss to me but I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t a priority.

Edit: But you can have three rows and cargo space unlike a three-row 4Runner

Can always remove the third row with a 14mm or 17mm ratchet :notsure:

There's a lot going on there. Makes me yearn for the simplicity of a 1988 Chevy Suburban.

The Sequoia is 13" longer, 4" wider, 6" taller? That seems like a significant difference to me.

Maybe it was a Grand Highlander? Those are closer in size.

But not included in the recall, because hybrids don't completely lose power when the engine grenades.
