Went to do a valence install today, was quite a pita, especially the little clips. I just wanted to confirm a few things if anyone has gotten under their 2024 4runner trd off road or pro, i had to take off the skid plate and from videos ive seen it seems you have 4 "standoffs" for the 4 14mm screws on the skid plate. Mine however i think only had 2 in the front. To make it worse i used 2 different electric impacts and an air tool to finally be able to remove one of the rear screws. The others screw in pretty far by hand, the one with issues wont screw in very far. Im pretty sure with an air gun i can get it back in but i figured id ask if this is something anyone would know if i can get a new piece for so if i have to take it off again it is not super difficult?

Lastly, regarding the valence, i waited 2 weeks for my dealer to get one in stock and it has the screw hole divits... Kinda defeats the purpose of the clean look as they stand out. So i was curious is it because i ordered a valence in california? I see online no screw holes in the OEM valence on ebay and such. But i was hoping someone in toyota parts dpt could let me know, i would not like to go aftermarket as i have seen a few and it is not the same color as the rear valence.

    Thanks
    Trevor

I can only address the valance question. Did it have divots, but not actual screw holes? If so, I think that's how it comes, so they know how to locate the front license plates for states that require them. My experience with this came from buying my 4R in a state that doesn't require front license plates, but living in a state that does.

Might want to run a tap through the threads on the frame bolts if youre having so much trouble getting the bolts back in. I know I did and pulled out tons of gunk. Cleaned the bolts up and everything went back in smoothly.

The PRO skid only has spacers (standoffs?) on the front two bolts. I would suggest running a tap or thread chaser on all 4 bolt holes while the skid is off to ensure the bolts thread in correctly.

As far as the valance, I believe the oem Toyota version will have the license plate screw indents. Someone chimed in that their valance from EBay didn't, so some aftermarket valances may not.

OEM should have the indents. Aftermarket most likely won't.

The OEM Valance from factory has the small divots for the lic plate kit in those areas that require a plate.

As far as the bolt holes......get a tap or thread chase kit and clean those out. If you force bolts with an air drive or elec impact, you are compounding your issue, period!
As stated by @glwood54, there are only 2 spacers.....

As stated by @TRDGrey2021, (<--- thanks for the kudos)
Do this mod, it will make your life much easier...
