    Hello All,

Just joined the forum. I was a Tacoma driver from about 2003-2008, when I took advantage of the Tacoma buy-back for the undercoating issue. Loved that truck, but been driving hand-me-down Honda/Acura sedans and a CR-V since then, no complaints.

Family man now, little more income, considering upgrading from my 2013 CR-V with 180k miles to a 4Runner, which has kind of been a dream car for me for a while.

I don't see myself doing any off-roading except for some light camping with the fam. But if I'm going to spend the money, I want to get the truck/trim that I'll love for then next 10 years, which is a TRD. Right now I'm leaning towards a 2023 TRD Off Road Premium, although I might settle for the right TRD Off Road and do save some money for upgrades if the right one comes along. That's what I'm here to figure out!

    Cheers,
    JK

My vote is, TRD ORP w/KDSS, but I’m kinda bias. Welcome to the forum!

I don't know much at all yet about KDSS. If I'm almost 100% on road, does this have advantages? Also, is this a standard on the ORP or is it an upgrade?

I’ve found it to be effective on mountain roads and heavy cross winds. The KDSS system mitigates body roll using hydraulic rams front & rear to apply pressure to the side experiencing the roll. It’s an option or upgrade of $1,750.00.

Welcome to a fellow CT member. I wanted the ORP but was impatient and couldn't find one in the lunar rock color so settled for OR. I don't regret it but it would be nice to have the leather, heated seats, sunroof and all the accessories that come with it. On the flip side the money I saved by getting an OR I had a lift kit, UCA and tires purchased before I even picked up my 4R.

I haven't figured out the exact setup I want, but it will almost definitely include black wheels and some larger tires (if not already on the truck). Not sure about a lift kit, which would be purely for aesthetics since I'm not planning on off roading.

Other than that, the normal stuff...blackout emblems, roof rack, lights, audio, etc.
