I used to keep mine in the center console as well. However, now that I have the Rago center console molle panels, I keep them there.

I keep mine in the tissue holder in the center console lid, next to a smaller pack of tissues.

I just keep a 2 D maglite under my seat on the righthand side. Has never moved or made a sound. I did just pick up one of those over the hump caddies. It doesnt hold much but nice to have 1 more place to throw crap. Holds a small fry great too

    Well :censored:

February I put a new Toyota windshield on the runner. Got a transparent UV blocking tint installed on it that really helps with the summer heat at the same time.

Sunday I got a rock chip, called the shop and they sent a guy out to fix the chip.

Not only did he botch the chip repair, he melted the tint with a heat gun after I warned him that his employer had installed the tint. Going to the shop tomorrow to see what they are going to do about fixing it. New tint at a minimum, maybe a new windshield. At least all of this was on the far passenger side.

I'm not saying it's aliens, but..... Anyone else have "crop circles" on their 4Runner? I have no idea where these came from. I would never put anything, much less something shaped like this on my hood. I first noticed one on the roof edge above one of the doors. It was much smaller than these. Then I saw one on my hatch. Now these. No one in my family would put anything on my car (that I know of). The ones on the hood are maybe 3-4 inches in diameter. The one I saw on the roof edge was about 2". You can see smaller one (to the left of my hand) along with the larger one in this first pic.

Nothing wrong with the rubber Toyota ones it came with; these are just fancier. I like how they clean up the seat rails and seem to completely eclipse the carpet. Caps to keep mud out of the latches would have been nice.

They have a hum to them at highway speeds but nothing terrible, quieter than the nitto trail grapplers I had on my Silverado. They do awesome in the rain/standing water.

Couldn't find the 7-seat version anywhere except tuxmat.com but they shipped very quickly. Apparently Canadians can get them from Costco.

Just checked them on the web site. Any issues when getting in the vehicle with the door step are lifting up or catching them.

It's actually covering the underseat amp now too; need to work on that later.

Rear is Coverking and fronts are Marathon (identical licenced fabric); they have different approaches but both are pretty good considering cordura doesn't stretch. Should have gotten the "large" option for the front seat bottom pocket, and the material is a little scratchy for an armrest.

    PXL_20240716_182915609.jpg

Not yet, but they're brand new. They come with a bunch of under-panel and Velcro clips to prevent that; I only installed a few.

Our kids are grown(ish), so not an issue there. It's always garaged so no chance of neighbor kids either. The hair thing seems to make the most sense. We've definitely got an abundance of that floating around with the huskies. I'll pay attention to it and see if I can get a video of it happening in action.

That sounds awfully soon for pads and rotors. Do you drive mainly in a city with lots of starts/stops? Lots of hills? Or did the previous owner?
Try finding a highly rated independent shop for brake work.

I love it! (So protected!) those sliders are super strong in DOM and the mounting plates look incredibly stout.

Anyone want to feel lucky and really good about their 4Runner today? At least yours doesn't need almost $9k in front end suspension work :help:
I knew the struts were bad. I didn't know about the rest. I can do SOME things at home in my apartment garage. I can do brakes, oil changes, I even changed the steering rack bushings on my old Tacoma... but I don't have the tools, knowledge, or space (apartment doesn't like us working on stuff on their property) to carry out all this. I'm still waiting to hear back on less expensive strut options. Not sure why they charge so much for TPMS sensor replacement, I think Discount can do them for like $60 each. But even if a little comes off the top, it's still way more than I bargained for. Not sure what I'll do just yet. I absolutely love and want to keep it, but why do I have to have such expensive hobbies lol

You could definitely save about half that strut cost by going with Bilsteins or Ironman etc.

Why do you need both the upper and lower control arms replaced? If bushings are bad, can they just press in new bushings?

I asked about cheaper options for struts, I definitely don't need and probably would never make full use of the Icons. Not sure on the bushing situation, I can definitely ask them that.

My initial post may be off as I assumed the line item was parts only, but it appears it includes labor but, as an example, Shockwarehouse has the well-regarded Bilstein 5100 Front shock (you'd use your orginal spring or purchase new springs) for $160 each. There'd be an extra labor cost to swap springs (or perhaps you could buy new springs and have them sent assembled).
