My owner's manual says that chains cannot be put on the front tires. Can somebody explain to me why that is? It looks like there's clearence there. But let's say there isn't. What about tire cables? Snow socks? If I go snow wheeling it seems like it would be difficult to steer the vehicle without chains.

    Thoughts?

There's not enough clearance for chains or cables. You might get away with socks.
