Very fortunate. The Car Care Nuts shop is 2 minutes from my house. Drove by there today and he was out front. Very cool guy

Love that guy. If I was closer than Atlanta I'd pay him to do an all-around inspection on my 4R with 257K miles.

I didn’t. Honestly I didn’t even know he was by my house. I looked him up and I was like WTF? So I drove over there. Like 4 shops down from his is a place called Randy’s Automotive. When I had my Honda pilot that’s where I would take it. Fantastic mechanic. I do all my maintenance myself but if something goes seriously wrong with my 4R I’ll take it to TCCN

257k? Damn that’s great. I’m a first time 4R owner. Best truck I’ve ever owned. My neighbor had a 2011. Sold it this past spring with 480k miles on it. He did a horrible job maintaining it too. At the end I think his rear axle went. He never ever changed the diff fluid. He still got 3k for it.

Thank you. Yeah I never have this kind of luck. I do all the maintenance myself but if something goes seriously wrong, I’ll take it to him. He was very very nice.

Proximity to a good mechanic is one of the most beneficial/important things to have as a car owner specially if one is not open to or lack the know how to work on own cars.
The reason why Toyotas are so popular. Reliability compensates lack off access to quality mechanic to a large extent.
If I had access to him, my 4runner would still run like it came straight from the factory floor.
Unfortunately what I can do I do but for rest I count on what I have around me.

Cool, he seems like a nice guy.

Found a independent Toyota Master Tech near me. So lucky...

Thanks. Never imagined buying a used vehicle with 96K but my mechanic looked it over and said, "96K? It's just getting started." That was 2014 and I've had more fun in more places thanks to this truck. Hands down the best vehicle I've ever had. This is Cape Lookout National Seashore in 2021. The "haze" is blowing sand. LOL

If you use him you won’t have to worry about cross threaded/stripped bolts .

He's fair, gentle and honest. -Brought the wife's Highlander to him recently for some work. He apologized for the delay but explained how they had to wait for the transmission temp to come down before they could properly change the fluid. (The Toyota stealership of course said it was a LIFETIME transmission fluid NEVER needing changing...even after I reminded them fluid dynamics/physics doesn't change simply because a management bureaucrat said so. Good sheep!)

I agree, I do most all the work on my vehicles for no other reason than I can’t trust anyone to do the work right. If I had access to a Mechanic like him I would definitely consider using him for the more complex stuff.
