    I'm having an issue w my 2001 4runner 2wd it's doing the limp mode thing but code 1135 I've been reading the forums here but not knowing what it is that I need to change. I will say my 4runner has over 450000 miles on it but still runs great except for the limp mode issue periodically. So anyone pls help thks in advance!:annoyed:

    Get a new fuel cap. That’s what happened to my 06 Honda Civic Si with 318K miles. Drove me crazy. Codes thrown made no sense. Replaced fuel cap and limp mode never returned.

    Gas cap will really only fix Evap codes.

    P1135 = Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1).

    I would replace that sensor since you have that many miles on your car.

    Edit: This is the upstream sensor...so pretty sure Cat isn't the issue yet.

    ...also call your dealer with the VIN and get the part from them. I do NOT recommend getting a sensor from anyone but TOYOTA. You have a 2001 so it's not an O2 sensor but should be an AF sensor. A big box store won't know this but the dealer will.
